I really don't think Nicky did that good of a job. Yeah third is good for the points, also a good way to start the season with a podium, but he and his bike are capable of winning races. I know, maybe his set up was off, but he can't feel good about being smoked by the new kid on the team. Yes, Pedrosa is a great rider, lots of experience, but if Hayden doesn't want to loose his spot as number one rider for Repsol he better start pushing it.

If the Kawasaki people had their act together, and Sete's bike didn't break, the Hondas might have been as low as 4th for their best finish. Watch for the Ducatis to dominate at least on the European tracks.

No offense taken at all. I guess you should've sprinkled a few smileys in with that last post. I guess the question we should be asking is do we want to have one thread for the whole season or one for each race?

Class with show!!! Rossi wins one. Stoner couldn't hold on, got 3rd (?). Ducati second. Hopkins broke.... KRJR 10th.

Looks like Rossi again. Even if the bike isn't the best, he makes up for it.

I was in Qatar yesterday for the race, got to watch it from the pits, simply awesome. Rossi is far more alive on a bike, I got an autograph from him before the race, he seemed incredibly tired. Whatever he uses for energy on the bike takes it out of him when he is off of it. I also think the constant public scrutiny must be difficult. All I wanted was an autograph but I confess I felt a bit guilty, every autograph he signs probably takes him closer to retirement and a more normal life. Did not stop me from pestering him when he left the showers though.

Watching Hopkins kick the Suzuki was hysterical. When you plaster the name of a rolling paper manufacturer all over your bike, don't be surprised if it smokes.

    Can't wait til Istanbul.

I think this isn't the last time we see Stoner lead a MotoGP race and pretty soon he'll lead the lap that counts. Nicky was on fire and Rossi is, well, deja vu.

Poor John Hopkins. He is the only guy in MotoGP I feel sorry for. He could be right there with the leaders on any sort of a proper bike. He may be "living a dream," but it isn't his dream. Maybe time to go with WSBK?

Wow, Istanbul qualifying was crazy. Here are the results:
    Qualifying:

    1. Vermeulen

    2. Hayden

    3. Gibernau

    4. Capirossi

    5. Hopkins

    6. de Puniet

    7. Stoner

    8. Nakano

    9. Edwards

    10. Roberts

    11. Rossi

    12. Elias

    13. Tamada

    14. Melandri

    15. Checa

    16. Pedrosa

    17. Hofmann

    18. Cardoso

    19. Ellison

They're not going to make headlines this week, but KR is once again in fine form. Pedrosa did miserably and when you compare his results to fellow rookie Chris Vermeulen it isn't hard to guess who came from a four-stroke series. I love the two-strokes, but the two-wheeled racing hierarchy obviously has some holes. Admittedly, Stoner is in 7th, but that's just what you call a fast learner.
