RichardG and his JoKe mate? And all the other wankers that paid too much for their Ferraris...

    Saw a 348TS for $85k yesterday... and a 355 you'll get for under $120k...

But then, I might be again accused of lowering the Australian Ferrari market prices because I AM that influential!

I've spoken to Luke. Allan is again the lead instructor for Victorian drive days. He will be there at every event UNLESS racing commitments drag him away. I believe he missed one event last year as he was OS racing.

I'd start planning for 9 March if I was you as we expect him there (he gets back from Europe on 30 Jan and Luke can confirm then).

N-GT is a dead loss on those sorts of days. I'll have to see how F50 is coming along.

What is with you guys and Allan Simonsen?
i do know he is with MM and has sponshership and all that stuff.
i know that he also races for coopers and i has been in the V8 sereis
i do rate him as a really good driver, but i do not know what the fuss is all about on him.
is because he is the next big thing in V8?????
    Can someone please tell me!

Very fast, very nice guy who is also gentle on the machinary. Does it tough because he hasn't got the $$ to buy a decent drive.
Also a very experienced instructor, unlike some of the other guys out there.

    following on from Scott.....

and of course... because he is/was the only/most current professional Ferrari driver in Oz.

Of course, I'm biased because I've spannered all his Ferraris and his Porsche here, but lets say he is the best all round driver I've worked with...

he has the speed firstly, which is THE most important thing of course... but he has truly unbelievable consistency... like doing no less than 6 out of 10 laps in one memorable test session to within 0.1 sec, and the others within 0.2/3. I've had to double check my stopwatch that many times to make sure it's ticked over a lap... and this is to 0.01 sec... at least 6 times he has matched laps to the dead heat of his previous lap.....and these are at lap record pace.

His feedback invariably makes cars faster, and he can isolate problems and prioritise those that will yield the most speed if fixed (are you listening Stephen?)

And he has WON every race he has finished (nearly 30) in a 360C here.... and he DNF'd one race... his first meeting, non championship AGP race, when asked too much of the ABS.

And if you're ever lucky enough to get a hot lap... in a real race car with slicks and a cage... you'll get it.....

and as an instructor... he gets the message over quickly and clearly in way you'll remember and understand... not bad seeing as English is his 3rd language.

For the record... he has raced and beaten Jenson Button and Kimi Raikkonen and Justin Wilson off the top of my head, among numerous others.

Philbilly, Allan has driven the car at Sandown, last O'Neill drive day last year. Reckoned the car needed the sequential conversion, because the standard shift is such crap. Also suggested shocks, but this was before they were re-vavlved the second time and the rear mounts moved.

Your gears shift is crap because you've cut the H gate and lever to bits... with engine/box movement on soft rubber mounts, your gears are almost a lottery.

Repair the lever and fit a new gate and it'll be better (or fit solid/near solid engine mounts). You've massively over done the mods there.

The only reason he said go sequential, is so that you don't have to go across a gate... it just saves mistakes, does not actually yield more speed as such.

You did, and much to my great relief, so did AHG, before it was too late.
