Hello Ferrari owners, my 430 wont go into gear. It is standing in my garage in neutral, and it wont shift into gear. When i hold the paddle for about ten seconds, i see the f1 transmission light (on the dashboard) for one second then it goes off. What could it be? I do hear the the f1 pump engage when i open the driver door and get into the car.

    Thanks in advance.

Perhaps your brake switch. I hadn't driven mine for over a week and when I tried to put it in gear it wouldn't go. I didn't panic -- just pushed harder on the brake pedal and that did the trick.

I had the same problem but at a intersection, ended up being the brake switch, just put your foot on the brake and see if the brake lights come on, if they don't then there is your prob

Hey thanks for the quick response. The brake lights do go on. The front right brake line is busted and there's barely any brake fluid in the car. I'm in the process of installing a new brake line. I asked the dealer if that would be the issue he told me he didn't think so. I have no warning light other than when I hold the paddle shifter for a while the transmission light goes on.

Are the brake and clutch lines using the same fluid? Wouldn't no brake fluid mean no clutch fluid thus no way to shift? I have no idea...Its just a thought....

When it doesn't shift. Turn the car off and restart after the ok. Will it shift then?
I just had mine in for a clutch position sensor replacement. When I started the car it wouldn't shift into 1st or reverse. Sometimes I'd get the f1 light, sometimes not. If I turned the car off and restarted it, it would shift. Not the right solution, though.
Needs to be diagnosed at the dealer or Indy.

There is no conventional clutch reservoir on an F1. The F1 hydraulic system uses power steering fluid and is completely separate from the brake system.

Ive turned it off, and on. Still nothing. Not even the f1 light stays on. Which Im glad, at least that means theres not a major issue.

Is it the F1 light or the rear hatch light? They look very similar.

F1 light goes on when I hold the paddle for ten seconds and then go away when I let it go.
