I have posted in the recent past about looking into a 599.As always the board has been great with regards to advice. While I get closer to pulling the trigger I have noticed a few opinions that one should avoid the 2007 model year.Anyone willing to chime in on why some have this view and the validity of this thought. Not looking to start a war as most owners that I have heard from seem to love the car no matter what the year.It would be great to hear from anyone who has owned different model years as a basis for comparison. Thanks,Mike

There's no reason at all to avoid '07's. That's a huge portion of the total production as well.

Full disclosure I own a 2007 599. I have had it for about a year and a half with zero mechanical issues, I have put about 1500 miles on it. From what I have read be careful of sticky buttons, receding leather on the dash and power steering leaks. Same price and car for a 2008 or 2009 buy the newer model but I don't see anything wrong with the 2007cars, it is LOT of car for the money. If you are collecting go buy a manual or a GTO.

2007 is the best year for the Fiorino. More was optional, less was mandatory. And from 2007 t0 2008,the MSRP went up by 39,000 dollars. There are no improvements that I have heard of in the later years.

I've been out of the 599 for a while and my memory is fading, but as I recall CCB's became standard in 2008 so there's what, $25k or more of that $39k? I always said I'd rather not have CCB's for the fear of chipping a rotor someday. But if you have challenge wheels, not having to spend an hour a week cleaning them is a big deal. It was really nice having the wheels just stay clean. "That" I will never forget. Only car I've had with CCB's so far. Mine was an '07 but had the option.

2007 TCU's cannot be upgraded to the HGTE pack for improved shifting times (100ms to 85ms), apart from this small change, they are all pretty much the same AFAIK.

It depends on the serial number -> For VIN 156938 (built in 2nd half of 2017) and greater the shifting time will be reduced from 100ms to 85ms by adding the HGTE Performance Package.

I had a 2007 and now have a 2009, there is no meaningful difference that I can detect in normal everyday driving, they are both great cars.
I have the CC brakes but for my purposes would prefer steel brakes. The radio on both models is totally undecipherable by a normal person although it sounds ok to my not very sensitive ears. It will not exceed 207MPH no matter what you do.
