I am considering a silver/blk one with 25K miles. Anything I should look out for with this year?
The only twin Turbo 911 I have owned is a 2002. These are rock solid cars. Make sure you have the radio code with the car. You will need it to keep the radio operating if you change or disconnect the battery My tail would not come up at speed and I had to trplace a sensor, very expensive. These cars do not break very often but when they do they can be expensive Not sure of the year but the "runny egg" front light cars are not as desirable. These are called 911 with the Porsche designation 996. They are good cars but not for collectors. The 996 have the same handling problem as earlier models. This was not fixed untill the 997 variant of the 911. The 997 and newer 911s are safer cars. If you can afford the newer Turbo Porsche it is worth it. The twin turbo with varible vanes have almost no turbo lag. I would say no lag which is what I believe but someone would argue with me The older cars have to spool up then you get the power. Sometimes the power comes on when you do not want it. Buy 993 or earlier cars, and 997 or newer cars for best and easier resale. The 993 will not perform like the 997 but very desirable for collectors, the last of the air cooled motor. For cheap reliable fun a 996 is fine. This is the first year for water cooled engine so it has more power than the earlier models. I hope that helps. You will love the 911s just awesome cars. I drove a 2014 Twin Turbo S Porsche, just stunning. Best Lee
Had one. Loved it. Only problem was the dreaded coolant pipe failure. Once that was sorted, it was a rocket ship. However, I never came to terms with the 4wd power vectoring feature. Just used to tail happy rwd 911s and s traded the Turbo for a GT3. And yes, 2007 model is a 997.
