Ashtray comes out, then shift plate (Rev. Auto), then the carbon plate can be removed. You will see how to get the switch out after you have it apart.

If they are sticky, we can refinish them. We do those parts every week.

Thanks for you advise. Is this plate held by screws or clips?

From my memory, clips. Once you take out the ashtray, you can reach your fingers underneath and pop out the panel.

ridge55 is right, it should be pull out. The ashtray holds it down, so you do have to take it out first.

I believe you need to remove the entire console as screws hold it down

I don’t think that is the case. I replaced all the plates/panels with carbon fiber and did not need to take off the entire consol. Here is a picture of the back and side of the plate. The screw holes you see are to attach the switches to the plate.

True, but the screws sandwich a metal plate that has clips. I'm pretty sure we should have a photo showing it and I'll try to find it later and post if I remember.
