There has been a tentative date for the 2007 race set for June 17, 2007. http://www.motorsport.com/news/article.asp?ID=229428&FS=F1 Norbert
I'm there for sure. I'll have to see if I can register (dad with Premiere Platinum Marriott membership has it's benefits!)
It didn't help me for the past two years, just was able to lock in a room but at their increased rates.
But not downtown right? I was trying to get a room downtown (even at an increased rate), but they don't even take reservations.
Rick, wanna do it again next year? Can you get the same seats? Same Hotel? That all worked out great this year. But, the only thing we'll have to do is get that same Parking lot as we did on Saturday. We can all go in my Van too, next time. Unless you want to get a few people together and we can rent a Motorhome and Park in the infield? (Except, then there'd be no nice cool, relaxing pool....no giant Jacquzzi....No wacky lady at the Sunday morning brunch....)
The last tickets were because of the previous year non-race. i'm not sure I can get as good of seats but I would hope that they send me a ticket request form. If so then i am up to going again. Anyone else?
I'm going, I'll be staying at some form of Marriott, hopefully the one in Keystone Crossings (yeah free room!!!).
You can most Definitely count me in for 2. And hey, I will also look in to those other seats that we were taking about when we were at the race....You know which ones I'm talking about....( Yes, I DO have the $$.... ) Let me know when they send you a ticket request form.
I have a question about tickets.... I've never been to a race at Indy, and was wondering if tickets for the section right where turn 1 is, I think it's section H, are difficult to get. And if they are attainable, how much did they go for this year? I don't have a lot of money, and don't want to get my hopes up if I won't be able to sit in that section. Thanks -Scott
OK, I'm finally home from CA and catching up on mail. I did receive a letter stating that I can get the same tickets we had this past race. These were approx. 10 rows up from the fench between the start/finish line and the Ferrari pit. Anyone interested in these seats?
Hey, that would be a great idea....I wonder if I can? And if they'd let us take a kart on the track for alittle bit. Would make for some great Promo pix, that's for sure!
Getting them on the track is probably close to impossible. Tony George and Bernie run a tight ship. But I'm sure you could get yourself a booth outside the stadium (South or West of the Entrance). Any F1 fan will walk by there regardless.
I am pretty certain I will never go to a USGP again. Never before have I been as bored at a sporting event. Formula 1 is now BORING. And it is especially boring at Indy. If they had it in San Jose (like the do for the San Jose Grand Prix) or through some other city, it could be exciting. But I just don't enjoy watching 10 cars go around a long track without passing. Do you guys TRULY enjoy F-1 or do you enjoy it because you like Ferraris?? I, admittedly, only cared about F-1 due to my love for Ferraris. But, now, I see how the two are SO different from one another (when comparing actual road cars to race cars) that I just can't be a "fan" anymore of such a farse.
My love for F1 was born long before the Ferrari bug bit me. F1 is the only sport I care about, watch and follow religiously. To me F1 is way more important than Ferrari, which causes me sometimes to root for a non Ferrari driver.
I go for the fun of it, just like a ball game. You enjoy the whole atmosphere of everything going on that weekend. Yes, the San Jose F1 is more fun since it is run thru the streets. So is this an invite to crash at your place out there for the San Jose race. I'm lossing my crash site since my one friend is moving out of the bay area.
