    nice post thanks

i really like value of new xk's esp convt. you get 80% of an aston martin db9 for 50% of $. i saw them both next to eachother at ny autoshow and theyre very much separated at birth

i would think this should be final nail in coffin of maserati.

I agree Maserati would do well to introduce something new, but the XK is a bit short of power compared to the Maserati. Apparently Maserati is not having any trouble selling Quattroportes, even to those comparing it with the Jaguar XJR. I've read Maserati sales staff are supposed to ask: Would you rather buy a car with a Ford designed V8 (it isn't) or a Ferrari designed V8?

Anyways I like the XK. I would really like to drive one as I think its lightness would make it a lot of fun. The XKR should help with the power deficit. I've also read somewhere that Jaguar was considering a GT3 version of the XK. Since its no longer an XK8 I guess they're anticipating a few more versions.

I can't shake off the idea that the front-end looks like a Taurus.

I saw one this weekend at a horse show I was at and there is something about it that is out of proportion...it looks OK, but I don't want one...

That depends on whatere you want to pay Ferrari designed service cost or Ford designed service cost I suppose. That being said, I don't really like the exterior looks of the new XK that much...

Really not feeling the new Jag, the old ones were gorgeous. Looks way to bland.

Maserati is in a higher bracket, their base current spyder packs 400hp and thats an old model, the new one should have close to 500hp, nothing to do with the XK.

I think it looks great. I'd get one but its a bit beyond my budget at the moment. Did you mean to post a picture of a DB9 too?

I know the it looks like a taurus grill debate has probably been beaten to death but as far as I concerned you might as well be getting hung up about Natalie Portman having eyes that look like Kathy Bates or something.

Do u mean the XK or the DB9? i love the DB9, and think it's the best looking car on sale today. The XK, not so sure. The proportion is right, but the front end styling is a bit weird.

Yea, sorry, I meant to post the DB9 as well. I was posting as a comparison, the DB9 is gorgeous, the XK IMHO is not.

It does make it hard to get excited about the car. Maybe I'll like it more in person, but the gut-wrenching Jag depreciation and watered-down Aston styling aren't going it for me.

Handsome car, just not a lust object.

Not at the XK end of the market, but THIS was the lust object they should have made:

I saw it a few times in person and it looks good but I wouldnt buy one either.
Especially a first year model. I do think it looks better than the old model it replaced.

I dont think I could take another 3 year relationship with our local jaguar service dept again.
