So.. we're about 5 months from Indy, and I'm starting to make my plans. I'm meeting my bud Pat from Ohio for the 4th year in a row. We have lodging on Saturday night, and like last year, I was planning on flying in early Saturday and out Sunday night. With the purchase of my new car, I thought it would be a good road-trip opportunity.

Robert, Nicola, etc.. was it worth it driving last year? Anything you would do differently?

If I do drive, I will have 1-3 seats open if anyone else wants a lift. You'll have to arrange your hotel, etc.. but I can provide the lift (fuel cost divided equally of course.)

Driving in my dad's suv was fine, go in Robert's Mercedes was very comfortable. Driving the Turbo R up there with track suspension and no a/c for 900 miles, a nice challenge :) If I ever drive again I'll go in something comfortable with a/c.

The drive isn't to bad if you give the entire day to the drive. It's about 12-14 hours

I usually leave early on Friday and get in around evening in Indy. Then on the way back leave Indy on Sunday after the race and stay in Illinois somewhere. This last year Will and I stopped in Mt. Vernon, IL on the way back and had a blast with all the locals and visited 2 different hole in the wall bars and partied till we got kicked out! It was a rough next day though, being in the car with a hangover and no a/c for miles and miles :)

Let me know what you're going to do.
