Long time Porsche owner, multiple GT cars, acquaintance connected me with a possible purchase of a 2008 430 Scud. Yellow,1700 miles, 1 owner, 300 MSRP, perfect apparently in every respect- looking for your valued opinion on valuation and overall assement of car. Very much appreciated

Has it been serviced regularly despite the very low mileage? That would be my chief concern. Early 2008s did not have carbon fiber everywhere standard - so check that as effects value. Got any pics or other details? Stripe? Interior options, etc? General range you see for Scuds right now in the US is 160-225k depending on options, miles, stories, etc. 16m's go for more in both markets.

Collecting or driving it? You can get an extended warranty through Ferrari as an option, but they must inspect the car to apply the warranty. Probably want an independent inspection done unless you really trust the shop and the work documented to date.

There is also a value calculator that someone put together, which use to be fairly accurate. It is still in the ballpark. Scud prices seem higher in Europe than the US.

    Good advice- I would be more in the collector category but could see putting 500 miles per year. Options are;

    Brake calipers yellow 1040

    Leather 5273

    Fire extinguisher 585

    Racing stripe 8264

    Special features 3835

    Special stitching 417

plus standard options included on car which does not the US carbon package

I'll try to post a picture of the window sticker

Its on Ebay, if you want more details. It has been for sale for about a month or so.

Nice Car, I hope you get it. Scuderia's are getting ready to spike in value.

Interesting car - just looked at the ebay auction. Yellow and the white interior are pretty particular choices. I don't like leather in a Scud personally, but I still appreciate it in other people's cars. I wonder what the "special features" are here?

Also just noticed it does not have the LED steering wheel which is a standard feature and something most people want. So that lowers the value.

EDIT - also note the headlight hazing which is common. My late-2008 has this...many threads on it. Normal, but not attractive.

EDITx2 - also severe hazing on coolant reservoir CF. I've never personally seen it this bad. There are aftermarket replacements for reasonable money. I'm sure OE is absurd. Some cars have this worse than others. People speculate it is related to the heat in the engine compartment.

With mileage like that prob 225 to 235 there are two for sale at Ferrari of central jersey both asking 237500 and one in union NJ asking 219 all have higher miles. Low mileage scuds are very rare now and commanding a premium there was a black one on eBay with 300 miles asking 390k just a week ago.

I agree as to all of the above but collectors are willing to pay a premium for low mileage so let's see what happens here.

I believe the "special features" is usually the VIP book with pictures from the manufacturing of the particular car.

If it is a 2008 and US cabon package isn't specifically listed, then I would make sure it is really there. Without it there is already plenty carbon on a Scud, but the US carbon package which became standard on MY2009 includes the front splitter, the headlights, and the rear diffuser - if I recall correctly.

Edit: Just took a look at the eBay listing. At $3k+ I doubt the "special features" is the VIP book in this case. Also, looks like it may not have US carbon package (headlights don't look like carbon fiber)...?

It would be easier to call price with more "standard" colors/options IMHO. The low-mileage has value in the market (whether I value it personally or not), but those unique features complicate it in my head.

Agree. If it was me, and I was looking for a collector/investment Scud I would look for a different vehicle.

It looks like full CF in the pics, but hard to tell. Definitely confirm!

Also interesting is that this car does not have the "fully trimmed boot". The sides of the storage area are bare aluminum. I've never seen a Scud without the option. Kind of cool. Odd to not select it when going with leather though.

If this is the correct car I would peg its value at 205 in todays market.

The mileage is low but not museum piece low.

The color combination will not be to everyone's taste.

Missing the LEDs on the steering wheel is also an issue as is the fact that it looks like it doesn't have the US Carbon package.

Overall, its kind of falling into a bit of a no man's land between cars with driven mileage and cars with collector mileage. And it does the same thing with the spec as well. Thus, while some might be seeing 220-230 for their scuds, this one should be lower. Still a nice car and if someone likes the spec then it will be a wonderful car to own and enjoy.

I think ~$200K is a reasonable selling price. Obviously the low mileage is the biggest plus (at least in some prospective buyer's minds), but yellow/light grey interior is definitely an odd combination.

I've never understood why a small number of scuds don't have the CF wheel with LEDs. It's my understanding that this was standard equipment across all '08s. The car in question does have the US carbon package.

Polarizing interior could negatively effect the value. The seat, headliner, etc. color seems to clash with everything else.

If you want a "collector" Scuderia, Ferrari of San Francisco has the "Last Scuderia" made for sale @$400K a one of signed by Luca and all who touched it at the factory during assembly.

Like everyone says, the white interior doesn't fit well with yellow exterior at all.

This car definitely does have the carbon headlights if you look closely at the picture of the passenger side. It also has the hazing issue associated with cf headlights. Front lip is carbon. Rear diffuser is carbon. Looks like it has at least most of the important US Carbon package goods, which i would value at a min $10k over one that doesn't. But I'd subtract $20k for the white seats :).

Big time hazing on over flow reservoir carbon fiber in engine bay. They need to replace that.
