Hello everyone. I need your help. My 2008 f430 will be out of warranty in march. Is there anything I should look into? I know the 2009 was the last model year run and the last few years usually have the bugs worked out, but is thereanything I should be aware of?

I thought warranty was 4 years from 2007? It was in the uk anyway.

Jay- You can buy a warranty extension in one year increments. 2009 F430s are very rare. Most production was Scuderias and then 16Ms.

Headers which were commonly found cracking were fixed in the last half of 2008 with replacement installs, which half of the year was your 2008 made?

If you've had a trouble free car than just let it go. Not unless you intend to drive it a lot it'd probably be a little insurance. Just make sure all campaigns are done well in advance to ensure all bugs are out.

I agree. Put the money you would have spent on the warranty extension in a kitty for anything to go wrong. In 2 years, you'll have 12 grand to spend on repairs.

BTW: Coupes got a 3 year warranty, Spiders 4. However, the extra year was added to the original purchase price -- so we paid for it.

You don't mention how many miles are on the car. When I got my 05, I purposely drove it quite a bit under warranty to 1. make sure any factory build problems showed up and 2. if I had a lemon on my hands, I'd unload it. I had 12K miles on it at three years and it was very trouble free so I kept it and skipped the extended warranty. After 2.5 years, I figure I'm 15K ahead not buying it. However, if your car has very few miles, then an extended warranty could be justified. It all depends on your risk tolerance.
