(from Ferrari Press Release) The new Ferrari 430 Scuderia will join the road-going V8 line-up alongside the F430 coup and the F430 Spider. The 430 Scuderia is a truly high-performance 2-seater berlinetta which demonstrates how Ferrari's Formula 1 know-how is carried across to its production cars. The new model is a special series based on the F430 and is aimed specifically at Ferrari's most passionate and sports-driving oriented clients. Development focused on light weight, minimum trimmings and innovative technology. All this to exalt the car's extremely high-performance and ability to thrill the driver. The new car can count on an extremely low weight-to-power ratio of just 2.45 kg per hp thanks to a low dry weight of just 1250 kg - 100 kg less than the F430 - and to the naturally-aspirated 4308cc V8's 510 hp at 8500 rpm. Superb performance both on and off the track is assured by a series of cutting-edge solutions. There is the latest software - F1 Superfast - which reduces gearchange times to just 60 milliseconds, and new traction control which, for the first time, combines the E-Diff electronic differential and the F1-Trac traction and stability control in a single integrated system. Vehicle dynamics, control and performance thus represent the zenith of Ferrari's achievements in terms of developing road-certified sports cars. The 430 Scuderia will be officially unveiled by Michael Schumacher at the IAA Motor Show in Frankfurt in September 2007. I would love to see this 430 Scuderia with a wing for some reason...it would match for some reason imo...
i noticed something on the new f430 scuderia does it have some kind of boost on it like a turbocharger or supercharger? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I saw that too, but is it BAR or BAT? Could be a battery indicator. I'm not TERRIBLY a fan of the stripes, but I'll get used to it. I love the wheels, the gold definitely has a racy feel. edit: I just looked at the hi-res and it is definitely BAR. I'd think that a boost addition would add significantly more power than to 510, and would likely be on top of the headlines. I'm intrigued.
bar is a measure of pressure as in boost pressure, tyre pressure and... oil pressure. Sorry. The European cars used to have oil pressure gauge in kg/cm2 but at this level of accuracy the measures are practically identical. With 5 bar of boost that engine would probably explode very quickly .
I'm not an engine expert but when I drove a 355 Spider the oil pressure was always at 5 bar. If it goes down (because of too low revs) there's a warnig light. And the owner asked me to keep the oil pressure at 5 bar. Martin
Yes, that's right with oil pressure... I think PoleApart spoke of the air pressure the turbos generate, you won't go over about 2 bar (and even that is PRETTY high) there
WOW, beautiful car.....just get rid of the gold colour on the wheels, I like mine 'smoked'....! BTW, luv the rear end...
Is that the first time Ferrari has put gold rims on a production car? I don't like em personally, but the car looks nice.
Eh no i'm pretty sure some Boxers and Daytonas were sold with them and of course many of the Ferrari F1 cars of the seventies and eighties had them as well.
Are the rumours of Enzo times at Fiorano of any substance? How do the times compare with 430 Challenge? On slicks should be close?
Of course at this point its all just speculation..but i would guess that the 430 challenge is still faster around a track..even with both wearing slicks. The Challenge car suspensions are so dialed into track use a street suspension wouldnt hold in the turns. Now as for 0->60...that might be another story
