I was set to pull the trigger on a 2008 spyder 6 speed manual 3800 miles for 146k but stopped by my local audi dealer and looked at the R8 V10 coupe they had on the floor and inquired about the spyder.I can get any color I want a 6 speed manual in 3 to 4 mths for 161k.So for 15k I can get 3 year newer car that is brand new with local service available. What do you guys think?I know this is a lambo forum so looking to see what the lambo has that the audi doesnt and which you think would have better resale.Thank You

Pretty sure the Audi and the Lambo share the SAME motor...5.2 liter v10s. The difference is in the software not the hardware. So, the Audi could be software tuned to have the same power as the Lambo.

Does anyone know the difference between the Gallardo 5.2 V10s and the LP cars? Again, on paper they appear to be the same motor yet the newer car has more power. Is this a case of software again...anyone know?

The MY 2009 and 2010 Gallardo LP560-4 have the 5.2 L V10 motor with 552 hp and the previous year Gallardos do have the 5.0 L V10.

Gallardo any day of the week.

But then I'm biased...Never understood the point of the R8, to me it looks pretty ugly and I don't understand why VAG always wants to compete all their cars (Audi A8, VW Pheaton. Any lower range VW, seat/skoda....)

IMO the R8 is a bit too soft, a girly Gallardo if you will.

I think it depends on what your looking for. I have never driven the V10 R8, but the V8 in my opinion is very uninvolving, and about as exciting to drive as a BMW sedan. Though as everyone knows I'd convert either to RWD.

Depends on what you're looking for. The Lambo is better looking with the Italian supercar spirit. The Audi, to me, is more a more comfortable car that is still good looking. If you want the faster car, the Audi will be it. If you want a visceral experience go for the Lambo. There are also quite a few pre-owned LP560-4 spyders for sale as well. They are a little more expensive than the Audi but have the 552 HP version of the V-10. Both are great cars but I would try and stretch for the LP560 spyder. Good luck in your search!
