Since we are having an aviation theme this year I would like to announce that the Cavanaugh Flight Museum has sign on as a supporter and they will have their RV-"The Fast and the Furious" on the run with us.

Carolyn and I went out on Saturday and ran the first part of the run and immediately ran into more potholes than I care to recount. However, we have a pretty good route down. We will be in the lovely city of Fort Worth on both this coming Saturday and Sunday to finalize the route. We will probably cut some off of the end and add some to the beginning to avoid the pot holes. It looks like the rhythm of the run will be pretty consistent once we clear Ft. Worth and until the end. I hope to Ferrarize the route the following weekend.

If that's the only message of mine that makes it that far, then it's a good one.

I honestly think you're going to be overwhelmed at the turn out.

My thoughts are that I will be there by 7am. If we leave by 7:30a , the drive itself is about 35-45m ( depending on size of group ) IMO

    So:

    Doors Close at 7:30am

Again thanks to all of you for your help and participation. I have contacted both Judy Garrett with the corvette club and Marshall Sligall with the Viper club but have received no response. If anyone knows these two could you bump them for me.

Here is the list of kids ages and the number of kiddos, so we need a lot of people to participate.

    Boys 4 and under 20 mainly 2 to 3
    Girls 4 and under 32 mainly 2 to 3
    Boys 5 to 10 38
    Girls 5 to 10 30
    Boys 11 to 14 20
    Girls 11 to 14 17
    Boys 15 to 18 12
    Girls 15 to 18 13

So this should give you an idea of what to buy and who to buy for.

Well after 12 hours this weekend and about 15 from the previous 3 and over 600 miles of driving we finally have the route. I am pretty sure that Carolyn and I know every pothole, hidden Police station, roads that go nowhere and traffic lights in southern Tarrant county.

It took so long this weekend that we have only run the route in timed pieces but we can now connect all of the pieces. We will go out and run it in full this Tuesday and maybe again on Thanksgiving just to make sure it works and there are no additional problems.

We went out this past Saturday with two completely new routes based upon the failure of the previous weekends work and both of the new ones self destructed on Saturday. Finally, on Sunday, we managed to put together a route that would get us through the Ft. Worth urban spraaaawl with a minimum of delays and traffic lights.

We still have 1 bad left turn which we tried for hours to alleviate. We finally did so but the run gained 55 miles in the process so the alternative was abandoned and the bad left turn remains!

It looks at this point that the run will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete and that fits into our time table pretty well. I will have additional time and mileage information after we run it on Tuesday.

For Steve and the group that are meeting at Valley View and then departing, the drive mileage from there to Vick is 40 miles and it took us 41 minutes.

Remember if you are planning to attend, you need to place a post with your intentions so that I can make sure we have enought maps. If you cannot attend please make a donation at Boardwalk Ferrari, Lamborghini or Porsche dealerships, Ruf Auto centre, Autoscope, Norwood Performance, A Tin Lizzie Affair or the Cavanaugh Flight Museum.

    Hi Don,

Charles sent a message out to the ICCSW memberhip about the run and I replied back to him to count me in. So add my Alfa 164 to the list. At least the kids can watch a movie while I have fun on the drive. We will also try and be at Valley View Mall for the drive over from Dallas.

Thanks for putting all of this together.

I'm officially out, I now get to fly to Chicago on Sunday and it's effectively taken away my options for the weekend.

Will try to get some toys to Ruf or Norwoods.

I'm driving from Lakewood (west side of White Rock Lake, south of Mockingbird). I can hop on I30 easily from here and get to either 360 or I-20 or even 183 Airport Freeway fairly quickly. Wish I had my sport exhaust on by then, but probably will not have time to do that until January, oh well. Hopefully I will have time to detail the Aero V6 Turbo before the big day. If it rains will there still be a run ?

    Regards,
    Richard Schalij
