Must vary by country. Sounds annoying. It's already a procedure to drive the thing, compared to say a lexus. 1. Disconnect trickle charger 2. Insert key (who uses keys anymore?) 3. Turn key to On and wait for "OK". (My iMac boots faster than my 430, no joke! 4. Press red button 5. Let car run long enough that the F1 transmission actually works semi correctly. Usually that's about when the CE light turns off. 6. Engage 1st or R 7. Hit GO pedal.
If you turn the car of in manual mode then the car starts in 'Easy Auto', if you use a paddle in 'Easy Auto' then the car switches to manual control. Turn the car off in auto mode and it will start in auto.
My Spider has a push in push out auto button, so you can determine whether you want it in auto or manual.
I like having to push buttons before I start, it's like being a pilot. Plus there's nothing wrong with sitting there waiting for that beautiful engine to warm up - I can think of worse places to be...
