My good friend Tony Ravosa has organized golf outing at Fox Hopyard in East Haddam on September 24th (next Thursday) to benefit the Jimmy Fund. He's extending an offer to the CT Gathering and local Ferrari owners in general to participate as his guests. He feels that lining the cars up in front of the clubhouse would add an exciting dimension to the event. The plan would be to show the cars between 10:30 AM and 1 PM during the registration and lunch time, and lunch would be provided to the car owners. I participated last year and it was a great time. I think there's also still room for golf if anyone is interested in the full package. He has a number of sports celebrities coming and the food is first class. I don't want to hijack the thread with this event but wanted to make all aware of Tony's offer. If you're interested please pm me or let me know this Sunday at Starbucks so I can give Tony a headcount. Thanks, Michael.
Mike.... I love it but cannot commit until the last minute for business reasons. I'm sure others are in the same boat. How flexible is Tony? FYI Guys...Fox Hopyard is just down the street from my Playground in the Devils Hopyard, Cool venue plus a rip through the twisties....ohh my. Lane
I understand that a weekday event may be tough. Tony is flexible on the number of people, but it would be helpful if anyone who is interested let me know ahead of time so he can plan accordingly (food, drinks, etc.). Anyone that can show up during the registration and lunch (10:30 - 1 PM) would be more than welcome! Anyone interested in golf should pm me with their email address and I'll forward a flyer. BTW - Our ultimate goal is to put together an Italian car show right in Glastonbury (Elks club or community center?), similar to Tutto Italiano in Brookline. You know, cool cars, food, gelato, peroni, music, guest appearences. This would also benefit a charity. See you all on Sunday.
Let me know if you do add golf cart polo. I know a guy who happens to have a half dozen shortened polo mallets that are just gathering dust. - Ed -
Gunnar's part #1 (the cruise in) has been posted. http://www.automobilesdeluxe.tv/ Dude....your a master.
Looks like the wife might not be going to Philly this weekend afterall. I may be able to make it on Sunday! Fingers crossed!!! Gunnar... you are the man! I am sorry we did not get a chance to meet this past weekend... but I did see you hanging out the window of the M5 to get some great shots.
I've been under the weather the past few days...but looking like I'll be just fine to make the drive tomorrow morn! Weather is looking fantastic Very nice write up Gunnar!
I'll just show up; pre-registering is nice to get the pre-printed car info board...but last year tons of the boards had some type of typo / wrong info. My car was called a spider, I recall seeing a 2001 F430 (very rare indeed!), other humorous mistakes I don't remember.
Hi Guys, I am working with the Bova's on Festa this year and just want to mention it would be great if you could kindly register in advance - it helps us all out a ton - and as for the signs, though I can't speak for what may have happened in the past, if you run your information past me I can get you a PDF proof prior to the show...thank you for your support, we look forward to seeing all of you!
OK Gatherers and anyone following this thread...Mark your Calendars...October 18th to be a HUGE blowout season ending event that is NOT to be missed. I just got done proofing the cruise route and its spectacular. A little something for everyone. Mystic Seaport and Village, some beautiful ridge line farm land, and a set of twisties that rivals Devils Hopyard. The route is grrrreat and maynot be the best part of the day. The cruise will be performed in conjunction with, advertsied by, and with the full pressure of the marketing department at the FOXWOODS CASINO. Stopped in today and had the full attention of the Casino Director who is possibly more jazzed about this than I am. Looks like some amazing activities will be set up for us along with some surprises we can't mention just yet. Trust me when I say "amazing". What I can say is the Hard Rock Cafe is on board, Breast Cancer Charity is involved, the Massachussettes, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and New York crews are gearing up, and a possible spread in a major driving magazine who's name you WILL recognize. Photo ops will abound and memories will be immortalized. More info to follow on a seperate dedicated thread. We'll talk tommorrow. Lane
Lane, Ferrari only, or open to "and friends"? Tina and I hope to be there tomorrow morning. Well, if she sleeps in, at least I plan to come.
Nah, Lane reminds me of one of my high school buddies. He was always comin' up with some crazy scheme. I'd go along with him and somehow this scheme always ended up with me be detained in the principal's office. Never anything too serious mind you. Just a bit of harmless fun. Lane, count me in on your scheme. I'm cancelling whatever I had scheduled for October 18th. Just hope that I don't end up at the principal's office again!!! - Ed -
As you know "my freinds" are always welcome but in this case I am not in control. All are welcome but the venue is supercars. Not sure what that means yet or how its defined. I will let you know as I find out. It may just mean a differant parking spot. Ed...In this case, you might just want to be stuck in HER office describing what a bad boy you've been. I'm betting there will be a line. Again....trust me. Frank...no longer the fraternity...now Fratelli
October 18th, 2009 - The Connecticut Rally @ Foxwoods Resort Casino We [Manolis & friends ] are ecstatic to present none other than Saint Bastage as the member of the month!! In my opinion the most qualified Connecticut resident to spearhead our year end grand finale event. We had a blast today cruising through the twistys and hearing the music from Lane's 348 Serie Speciale! We have planned an unbelievable road trip backed by the full promotion of Foxwoods Casino. They are psyched to host the greatest Exotic Car Rally that has ever passed through their grounds. Yes it will be a grand event. We invite exotics from the entire North East to join us in celebration of our region. We will also invite exotic car clubs from New Hampshire to New York City as featured guests. This event (just like every event I have organized) is completely FREE. We are not a business. We are a group of exotic car enthusiasts that decided to give back to the community by organizing 7 events per year in a structured fashion. To become a member you must participate with your exotic or supercar. What makes this event even more special is that we are opening it up for everyone to visit & view the cars while we have lunch at the resort. It will be a spectacular site. The rally portion will only be open to participating members. Best part... It will be a charity event.... a very special surprise. Specifics to be announced later this week. Save the date. Feel free to PM Saint Bastage or myself! Image Unavailable, Please Login
