I've registered but haven't gotten confirmation yet. Can't remember if they do notify us.
Hope to see a good turnout from our gatherings.
I plan to spend some time on the weekend cleaning the road rash off so it's ready for the show.
See you Sunday if the weather is good.

I wish the Concorso had a place to park other fine automobiles to display for the kids. Every year I see some really nice cars parallel parked throughout the city. Some of us would love to bring our non-Ferrari exotics to the event...just to display them off to the side at the Capital would be nice. I remember they let the Pagani in a fews years ago, but that was it. Any thoughts?

A seriously questionable morning turns into a marvelous afternoon. Kind of a muted turn out as only the very close or commitable show up but still a great day. The antique car show across the street offered some distraction. Mostly American antiques and Muscle cars. A GT40 and a 365 daytona offered some gracefull alternatives but alas, our group remains the sparkle of my eye.

RE the concorso limitation....come play with us some Sunday. What are you driving?

More than 70 interesting cars showed up this morning at Zumbach's Coffee Shop in New Canaan for the second Caffeine and Carburetors run of the season. Even though it was raining heavily at 6:30 this morning, by the time the faithful assembled around 8 the skies were pretty cloudy but no more than light rain for the event and just some damp and slippery surfaces for the tour through Connecticut and Westchester. Ferraris present included a 330 GT 2+2, two 400i 5 speeds (out of only 38 in the entire country), F430, 360 Modena, 328GTS and I'm sure one or two others. Other cars included a 1927 Springfield Rolls Royce Phantom I with fantastic patina, a Jaguar XK-140 with only 19,000 miles, about 20 (maybe more) Porsches of all ages, a 1967 Shelby GT350, four Aston Martins (all newish), a 1967 Corvette convertible, an Alfa Duetto and an Alfa Giulietta convertible, Lotus Elan, a Series III XKE, a pre-war Packard, a stake sided Ford pickup from the forties, some American muscle cars including a Chevy with a real fine 409.

When the owner of the 330 GT 2+2, which is painted in Georgetown blue with complementary Georgetown gray interior, was asked if he was concerned about driving his concours level car in the rain, he said, "I've driven in the rain before and its never melted". I guess he doesn't mind cleaning it up afterwards.

Let's hope for sunny skies next Sunday for the Hartford Concorso!

Please don't feel slighted. This isn't a car show it's a fund raiser. Sundays show is a small part of the weekends events. Most of the activities center around kids and the CT Children's Hospital. The guys paid $50 each to park their Ferraris at the capital along with a lunch at $60 per person. They have a picnic on Saturday where they give rides to the kids. On Sunday there is a parade through Hartford for patients of the Hospital. They also have a silent action. The event has raised hundreds of thousands for the Hospital and made alot of kids very happy. If you would like to participate in the fund raiser I could give you a contact.

I don't feel "slighted" whatsoever and fully understand your viewpoint on the event. It's no big deal whatsoever. I've gone to the Concorso at least 5 years in a row now and always watch the parade. Its a great event for a good cause, but Sunday afternoon is still somewhat of a car show especially when you consider the fact you can have your car judged. I didn't mean to put you off and if I did, I apologize.

No big deal at all, it's a Ferrari Club of America NER charity event, raised over $600k over the years. If you want to support the CT Children's Hospital, by all means as Falcon said donations are accepted at the event. I personally know two kids who had extended stays there so this is an important charity for me.

If you have a car you want to show off, there's tons of shows all over the region all summer (for example, see the Cars and Coffee thread posted here on Ferrarichat, that is a nice general event for auto enthusiasts).

Thanks, between the two here in this part of the state and one that is coming to your neck of the woods in the next few weeks, the three of us are hoping to have three 400i 5 speeds show up at the same time.

Wow, what's with all this wet weather? Missed yesterday.

Anyhow... my DD is a Passat (modified, of course) and a bunch of us at PassatWorld are going on a cruise Saturday June 27. Meeting in Granby CT at 10AM and riding west on RT20, then north on RT8 to the Colebrook River Dam, then continue north to RT57 east and finally RT189 back to Granby. It's a spectacular route with great roads, beautiful scenery, and light traffic.

Everyone is welcome. We are typically NOT the immature VW crowd found with the Jettas and Golfs. No burnouts, racing, nonsense crap like that. Check out the details here: http://www.passatworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=284104

Exotics, bikes, daily drivers, whatever welcome. No need to post over there, you can PM me or speak with me about it Sunday. BTW, I'm VW OB5ESSION over on PW.

Getting better, but at a very slow rate. Doc said it was ok to try a F-car drive, but only if no pain was present. I tried it, but a little too sensitive still. I'll be good to go on the 28th. Thanx for asking. Enjoy next Sunday. See U on the 28th.

No need to apologize. I didn't want you to think you were being excluded. I didn't know how familar you are with the event. Showing up and expecting admission is like going the the Hospital's $100 a plate Gala and expected to be seated without a ticket. It's about the Hospital, not the cars or the Gala. Hope you join us on a Sunday morning.
