    I notice that my scud has a slight ping noise at 2500 to 3200 rpm's on gentle acceleration. The local dealer said they contacted Ferrari of North America and it is normal and even gave me a demo ride in a scud that they had for sale which also had the same ping noise. I have been using Shell high octane gas. Has anyone else experienced this problem in a scud or regular F430?

    Never heard that noise on my car ...2008.

    Haven't heard it coming from my 09. Don't particularly want to either.

    It must be a fairly significant ping for you to hear it while driving, Are you sure it's from the engine itself? Could it be something vibrating in rhythm with the RPM's?

    Nothing here. The only thing that happens exactly at 3,200rpm at WOT is the opening of the muffler bypass valves. They also open under any throttle position at 6,000 rpm
