By the time he's driving for Team Zimmer he should be fine Seriously, who knows what goes on in someone else's head?
just heard that there was a team radio message that went out to Vettel when he was setting his car up for a pass "turn the red dial up and hit the silver button!!" I think he misunderstood the communique
Good steady drive by Webber to keep his WDC hopes alive after yet another shocking start ... so he has proved that he can come up through the field . Needs to turn poles into wins though! Pete
I agree with you all the time, I just don't always say it. You are a mostly reasonable poster at least for a lawyer
If you failed to see he did hit water when making the direction change, maybe you need to see your local optician. It was a combination of things. I do agree he was in the wrong, I never said he wasn't, but there are some on here who think he does it on purpose almost. I've said it a couple of pages back, he needs to relax more behind the wheel. QUOTE=GTE;139858399] There is a patern emerging. Someone once said about Alex Zanardi's F1 efforts that his judgement at the limit was questionable. Somehow, seeing Vettel driver, I get remembered of that quote. It is not only Vettel crashing into people (remember also Australia 2009) it is also what happened at Hungary this year or being overly agressive at Silverstone. He seems to be his own biggest enemy.[/QUOTE] In Hungary, the team told him to hold back so Mark could get a lead. The maximum gap is 10 car lengths, and when you just tap the brakes and the other just decides to accelerate at that moment, 10 car lengths are very very quickly becoming 20 car lengths. He got caught out, clear and simple. It's controversial that one anyways, because when he got the penalty they showed footage of him leaving just over 10 car lengths on the straight, still behind the safety car. In Silverstone, didn't Hamilton hit Vettel on his tire causing the puncture? I fail to see how that is Vettel's fault. Haven't bothered looking up a replay, my internet is slow. OZ 2009 was Vettel's fault. Anyways, as has been said before, Vettel needs to calm down when he's not in the lead. Same goes for Webber, same for Hamilton as well in his first year. Vettel is simply one of the best right now, he just needs to work on his patience.
Not even the man himself is claiming he hit water. There wasn´t any. The footage is clear and simple. A quick direction change made him loose control. A dumb move. Not deliberate, but he simply caused an avoidable collision. A DP is a fair punishment to say the least.
This supports what you're saying. I thought he hit water also... According to Button, the Bus Stop chicane, where Vettel slammed into his McLaren, was "100 per cent bone dry" at the time of their collision. "I've never seen anything like it before," he lamented. Pressed to offer an explanation, Button's subsequent comments were withering. "I think he got rattled and confused." Ouch and double ouch. Vettel may have been treated leniently by the stewards but his reputation is taking a pounding. "Sebastian is getting into a bad habit," observed the equally-scathing Martin Whitmarsh. "He is quite a crash kid. It was not what you would expect to see in Formula One. It was more reminiscent of junior formulae."
This is from the guy who did not drive into anyone. Should he have his eyes checked too? http://planetf1.com/race-features/6348145/PF1-s-Conclusions-From-Spa
Fair enough. I was under the impression he hit water, so was martin brundle, who is right 95% of the time. I wasn't against the DT penalty, just the usual keyboard warriors thinking Vettel does it all deliberately.
Vettel simply wants to beat Webber at any cost. I think he is somewhat blinded by his desire to accomplish this. I do NOT think he was trying to crash Jensen out, Jensen just got in the way of him scoring max points in position # 2 while Webber would sit in 4th.
+1 ... so easy to beat Vettel, just pile the pressure on and he collapses in a heap. You could see he was rattled by Webber much earlier in the season, now he is beaten. Loving it , and on top of that Mark is calming down when he needs to. Pete
