    1) Spain look pathetic ? In what way? They are still keeping the ball the best out of every team in the tournament and have the best player in Villa. I'd be worried Spain haven't yet hit their top gears.

    2) Young German Strikers? Klose is 32 !

Germany have played so far, but i think your getting seriously carried away with how good they are. This game is going to be very very close and i can assure you that the German Counter Attack will be covered by Spain. Germany will not do to Spain what they did to a poor Eng team and a poor Arg defense.

How can you possible claim that the Spain team that won Euro 08 is 'nothing like' this current Spain team

    Spain team in Euro 08

    Casillas,
    Sergio Ramos
    Puyol
    Marchena,
    Capdevila,
    Senna,
    Iniesta,
    Fabregas (Alonso 63),
    Xavi,
    Silva (Santi Cazorla 66),
    Torres (Guiza 78).

Spain team vs Paraguay in WC 10
    Casillas
    Sergio Ramos
    Puyol
    Pique
    Capdevila
    Busquets
    Iniesta
    Alonso
    Xavi
    Villa
    Torres

A difference of four players. That includes Alonso who came on in the Euro 08 final, David Silva who has played for Spain in WC 10 as a sub and Marchena who is back up CB in the world cup squad.

Pique is the only player in the current Spain WC squad who didn't play in Euro 08, so i'm not sure where you get your facts from ?

Spain is looking pathetic because they can't score. One goal will not be enough.

As far as changes I was referring to Germany, not the Spanish team.

I still think that Germany will win 3:0 or 3:1 because Spain is not stepping up to the plate and has performed weakly up to this point.

    Great game this morning :D

1-1 then 2 quick goals. Nice set play in the last minute to bring it back 3-2 Don't understand why the ref decided to keep the game going another 1-2mins over.

I'm going for the Carrots for the finale :D

Can't pick tonight's game could go either way but would like to see a Netherlands/Spain final.

It wasn't brilliant for 90 minutes, last 2 minutes were nerve-wrecking but overall it was a solid win! Van Persie is growing, Robben is getting better and better and Sneijders is in shape!!

After the game the whole team was very realistic!
Sneijders stated that the job is far from being finished.
All players are very aware they have a shot at the title, but either Germany or Spain will be big opponents.

In the Netherlands, most people expect a rematch of the 1974 final, which caused a trauma uptill this day!!
Sunday, the whole country will be nervos, Its experienced as THE event of the century..

3times a final should be enough to win once!!!
Germany lost a game allready, and Spain isn't as good as expected..

    IT Can HAPPEN!!!!
I travelled all over Europe with the team since 1988, I didn't have the opportunity to go this time, but BOY, do I regret that!

Well as far as i can see the winner of the World Cup will come from tonights game. Holland are a good side with plenty of at attacking flair and ability, but they are pretty ordinary at the back and Van Bommel is not providing his back 4 with any cover.

As i have said Germany have the form and have been the best side in the tournament thus far, but i still think Spain are a far better team. Germany will have to chase the ball tonight and spend long periods of the game without the ball. This will be new to them. Spain will be ready for their counter attack gameplan.

Germany, i think are going to have to go against the game plan they have adopted thus far in the world cup and do something different.

Tight game, but i think Spain will take it and win the tournament !

I agree with You. Tonight's game is what the final should have been, the two best teams of
the world cup playing against each other. I also think Spain has the edge, my bet: 2-1 for Spain.

I reckon the NED could win it all - Which would be kind of cool as nobody except Brazil in 1970 has been perfect all through the tournament.

    Cheers,

Thats one of the things thats great about soccer.
A single moment, a single shot can decide the Champion.

All the commentators here were declaring Holland had won over URU about 5 minutes from the end and were talking about the next game.
WHAM ! URU scores and all of a sudden the commentators were eating a big helping of STFU pie.

    Goes both ways.

NED can do it despite the "experts".

If Germany keeps its discipline they are going to take Spain.

Wow - Germany wore themselves out in 1st half. I thought their rifle-passes would put them in position, but Spain came on like a swarm of bees with the goal being the nest. Hardly got any looks at the Spanish goalkeeper.

Spain not as pathetic as some thought. Spain were far too good for Germany and Spain's midfield kept the ball and the Germans spent large periods of the game chasing.

    Comfortable win for Spain !

As I talked about earlier a pressing game kills off this German side, and we saw that tonight. Spain haven't been scoring the bucketloads of goals they're capable of scoring with their side, but they're looking very good. I'm still sticking with my pre-tournament prediction of a Spain victory with Villa as Golden Boot.

    Netherland vs Spain!

I think the Netherlands will have the edge

Don't forget Germany vs Uruguay for 3rd place could be a cracker of a game too.

    Yesterday was interesting!
Spain was very solid in the defence and midfield.
    Germany had only 3-4 chances..
The forwards of Spain weren't doing that well..
The goal of Puyol (smallest man on the field) was one of only a few chances, the only real other chance was the one Pedro messed up..

    I think Netherlands can win!
Individual quality of Robben en Kuit can make the difference.
The team is very realistic.. they think they can win this! IF they keep calme and concentrated. Germany didn't expect to lose..
They were overconfident, and paid the price.

Losing the final in 1974 and 1978 is still a big issue in this litle country...
This is THE chance to set that right.

In Holland the final is the ONLY subject we talk about.
    ITS a HUUUUGE THING!
