+1 Agree on both counts, my own exact words. IMO opinion with removing the fuel stop they've removed any excitement which was left in the sport. The cars can't pass each other as getting any closer than 50m reduces their down force. They need to remove the wings (e.g. formula ford) or do something that allows passing to take place. Its all very well to introduce a points systems which encourages overtaking, but irrelevant if they are unable to pass. I found the V8 supercar race much more entertaining to watch. Adelaide really put on a good show.
and did anyone else notice how empty the stands were? The Clipsal 500 had 240K people for goodness sake, plus it was exciting to watch! Listening to the drivers in the F1 race saying "we can't push because we have to save the gearbox for the next 3 races". What sort of "racing" is that? This was Max's final stupidity - his fixation on creating conditions where another March could emerge - no money but near the front of the grid. Just nonsense and completely not what F1 is meant to be. The new teams were predictably hopeless. A pretty Malaysian Lotus with no pace and a Spanish Dallara with zero testing, Virgin just as crap. What a sad joke.
WTF are you on about. Now you are just being lame. The fastest in testing didn't win, I win you lose.
F1 doesn't need new teams. They should just cut it down to 10 cars. Then more money can be spread between those 5 teams and get rid of all the lame rules with needing to make things last more then 1 race. I don't watch F1 to watch backmarker overtake each other! haha. Todt needs to make sweeping changes fast or just start a breakaway series already.
I watched only some of last night for first time in few years to see if improved any in spectator excitement terms at least.. and no it hasn't. These guys are obvious athletes with 3-5G forces and even SEEING where the track goes from low ride height at 300 km/h corner approaches.. For TV doesn't make much exciting viewing unless you like to see how a bazillion laps affects lap times to 3 decimal places.. It's not real "racing" to me unless see brave drivers battling for last square metre of a corner and see what decisions they make under pressure.
and the lack of sponsors on the new cars......the commentators were trying in a vain attempt to pump it up.........this season will be a boring year, and the lack of crowds, at the end of the race they panned the grandstand....full of expats, arabs are not interested in F1 or V8's, but if they had the Camel arabian cup on chasing a goats head.....that would pull crowds. I dont understand why f1 persists with the arab world other than money, like no US GP where once they had both east and west coast GP's, San marino is history, me thinks in time asia will have more GP's than any other region.........and melb looks doomed
they're in the mid east and asia because that's who offered Bernie the most money. The enrichment of a sad short-arsed limp-dick old man was more important than a sport that existed before he was born. Max "sold" F1 to Bernie for £1, then Bernie sells it to CVC for £1.1 billion. Possibly the single greatest piece of corruption in living memory.
quoted because PP is being an ******* and delusional that he won anything. Qualifying is what I said was important and surprise surprise what was the most important factor in winning yesterdays race??(b4 the car broke down) Ohh Qualifying times! Thanks for playing AGAIN! Cry Baby.
dunno, I reckon bailey buying any jag is corruption, who in their right mind would pay good money to buy a HOS
ridiculous notion! why would I when I have RB and RP supporting me? I will....next week, just before you arrive
