I have an M6 and was thinking of selling it for a 360 but am afraid that the 360 will be slow in comparison to the m6. I understand that the 360 is not a drag missile, but I still like to drive spirited and like the occasional stop light to stop light blast when traffic permits. I did have an encounter in Mexico with a 360 and it was not pretty. First gear I was already about two cars ahead and started to walk away in second. I was not even in s6 which is the quickest shift setting and nor did I use launch control. I looked at quarter mile trap speeds and the 360's best was 108 while the m6 was 119mph. Has anybody had an m6 that went to a 360 and could relay their feedback. Not interested in the Spyder, would be looking for a Modena.

Should I just wait till I can afford the F 430 and save a little more. I do like the way the 360 looks over the F430 but they are both great looking cars at the end of the day. Thanks for any advice.

There are A LOT of cars out there that are faster than the 360 (the last 360s are now 10 years old). But, a 360 is a Ferrari! The driving experience is unlike any other.

I went from a 650i to a 360. Contemplated going with an M6, but after driving the 360 I was hooked. Do you plan to drag race, or just enjoy the driving experience?

I do not have experience with the 360 but i just bought a 430 for the wife to replace her w212 e63. Let me just say that the 430 is a blast to drive. Comparing the numbers from car magazine and internet resources, it states the performance for both cars (0-60 and 1/4 mile) to be about on par with each other. But for some reason the 430 feels so much faster then the e63. It is also way more fun to drive. The exhaust note and the shifting in Race mode. Holy Crap, it feels so good. I think that we will put more miles on this car in 3 years than we did the e63 (3k miles in three years for the e63).

The 360 is not a drag racer. The engine gets most of its power above 4000 RPM. I'm sure you COULD push it and get some good numbers.. but to be blunt it sucks as a drag racer. You want large displacement engine with alot of low end torque and gearing that gets it off the line.

What the 360 does very well IMHO is its flexibility once you get going and carving up the road and curves. You'll get them in the curves.

Stoplight to stoplight in a straight line versus the grey haired guy in the vette... keep the M6. 430 has more torque. I'd save for that.

Didn't you buy a 360 over a year ago.... If so why are you asking basic information, as if you have never been in one? Yea, the M6 is slightly faster than a 360, my SL is faster than my buddies M5. However, driving a 360 was the greatest motoring experience of my life, as soon as I am done with grad school both my Mercedes will be sold to make room and capital for a Ferrari 360 Modena. The Ferrari is just in another league as far as I am concerned.

This thread by you last year sure looks suspicious now...

Just remember there is always someone with a faster car. I could care less about who is the fastest and just enjoy driving mine.

The 360 isn't particularly quick even against many everyday modern bland diesel cars, but that's not the point, surely?

This is all great advice guys. I understand that the 360 is more artful and is surgical on some nice back roads. I am not going to drag it but I definitely like to take off at lights. M6 is not blessed with massive amounts of torque and hits peak torque at 6100rpms.

I had an opportunity with a Euro Spider car last year but to get it registered in CA was a headache and was going to take a lot of money and time and had to pass it up. I use to think that they sounded so good, but I have exhaust on my m6 and ran into a 360 with tubi and I know you guys are going to kill me but I think the M6 sounded better... hahah. But seeing that car made me want one again, it's funny how your mind works. I love the rear end of them with the Challenge grill!

I actually have not been in a Modena only Spider. The Euro car was a spider and was going to cost a lot to get registered in Ca and PPI showed it had low compression in one cylinder. I passed on that car. That was my only experience with Ferrari's and I know that was a poor example. That's why I wanted feedback regarding a well running car. Also the Spider is heavier and probably not quite as a raw driving experience as the Modena. I definitely have not walked away thinking Ferrari is in another league yet!

I know a guy who had a 2011 m6 that he traded for a 2014 m6 with all Dinan stuff possible put into the car. Fast as all get out. Spoke with him last week and he said faster than his GTR!

Funny thing though.. nobody cares. Its an M6. No interest by the general public (at least in the 4 years at our C&C) I debated getting a whale tail version.. but couldn't see myself in one.

    Good luck with your search.

I think you are letting too much of your sensible side speak out! You just check that non-sense at the door Mr. There is nothing sensible about having the most desired marquee in the world in your garage at your disposal.... n-o-t-h-i-n-g! Everything else will make more sense, even a bus pass, but that is not what brings us here together. Can I get a Booyah?

I heard you can pick up the in-laws at the airport in an M6 and it will hold all their luggage too! NEXT!

P.S. I really like the M6, but as usual Curt is right!

For the money you put out when picking up a Ferrari 360, you could very well find something that's much faster, but that's not quite the point. :)

Very happy with mine no matter how many problems it throws at me and how much $$$ is thrown away when something breaks!

Buy the superchargers for the 360 or keep it stock and buy a drag bike. If you want raw speed, the bike is the way to go.

I never had a "sports car" before my 360 but it's not about the 0-60. It's the whole driving experience.

Get a F1 and think about how much it costs to floor it from a stop and you won't want to get to spirited.

You have nothing to prove when driving the Ferrari. ...The heritage of the brand speaks for itself.

    If its all about speed...buy a GTR R35 !

There are many cars out there that are faster but don't have charisma like a Ferrari

Agree buy a bike...I have a Ducati 1199 Panigali and its as faster than an Enzo down the Q.M

What I find interesting its that the 2006 430 is slightly slower down the q/mile than a 360

Believe it or not, not everyone loves Ferrari and there are millions of people out there dreaming of owning an ///M car... In most parts of the world the M6 is a real dream car (unless you live in California, Dubai or Monaco, as Internet has taught me...).

This is a Ferrari forum... What do you think people are gona tell you? If you want to be faster get a GTR if you want a great driving experience and to own a Ferrari go with the 360 I would personally save up a bit more and get the 430. Your a big boy you can make up your own mind.

Had you encountered a driver with some skill and a road with a corner or two, you wouldn't have known which way the 360 went.

As for straight line speed, my CS has a very aggressive exhaust, as well as ECU tuning and it actually is quicker (slightly) than my SL55! Don't discount the 360...... but do enroll in a driver's school to actually get the most out the driving experience.

Both cars have revvy motors which need to rev to make power. But if you'll get upset about losing stop light wars then you need to look elsewhere.
