I don't think you will see the new C7 Corvette until 2013. That would be the 60th Anniversary for the Corvette nameplate. As for styling there are 10 different sources within GM submitting design choices presently according to Ed Welburn who is VP Design there. CH
Assuming the Z07 option is priced under 20k, this would put a Z07 around 100k. Wonder how many dealers will order Z07's for the lot? Might be some real bargains out there next January.
The general manager of Chevrolet had a ice blue one. 1989 DR-1 Corvette was a ZR-1 convertible built for Don Runkle with the personalized "DR" -1 name plate. Sold by GM at auction a few years ago along with a lot of development cars... CH
They were pretty far along on the engineering for it. A buddy of mine worked for Corvette Design at the time.
It kind of reminds me of the blue from '62 on "Old Blue"...... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

I like the silver calipers.... I won't have to use the blue ones now on my project.... Just not the same to take the ones fresh out of the box and disassemble and powdercoat... Leave that factory fresh assembly in place with no chance of torn o-rings or scuffed cylinder walls. COOL!!!
I drove that car when it was at Corvette Mike's in Anaheim, it had a Doug Rippie Black Widow Motor and sounded amazing. The power was fantastic as well. Word out of GM is the C7 will be a re-bodied C6 coming out in 2013, it is the 2016 C8 that will be revolutionary, but who knows.
Yes but now that Bob Lutz is gone and DC owns GM I fear the C7 will take us back to the 1970s Vettes Alcantara, synthetic suede
I like the CF hood and Cermanic brake option. I'd prob opt for a moton shock set up instead, 'tho I must admit the ZR1 w/ the magnetic shocks has an unbelieveable supple ride.
