Scott, History on this car: This 458c was compromised in 2011 at Homestead International Raceway. It sustained driver-side quarter damage @ turn 10. It was repairable, but the original owner wanted only the best and decided to go for a full Re-tub of the car. Basically this means he paid for a new Chassis and or a new car minus the motor, and all bolt on components. How this works: We contacted Rossa Corsa Italy and asked for a New Chassis. They required us to remove the vin plate from the compromised Tub and send it their way. Then they ask us to destroy the compromised tub. We start to disassemble the Tub. Once the season was over it was professionally painted the original color, that you see in the For sale photos. Things to Remember: A new tub is essentially a new car using the original drivetrain from the crashed one. A tub Consists of the whole frame, and rear quarter panels, roof and front supports. It is much better than purchasing a challenge car that has seen carnage at the track and could be tweaked and or slapped together, have you ever seen a rear end of a challenge car rebuilt after a major crash, we are talking about them welding and trying to measure angles on a surface that a computer normally precision welds. This is a great opportunity for someone that wants a fabulous deal. 3 sets of wheels, 1 set with new tires, a set with scrubs, and a set with rain tires. You also get a cool suit , Ferrari F458c VCI , and 3 sets of used rear rotors. The Rotors and pads on her only have 500km, same as the transmission. what special maintenances are required to run such a car in monthly track days? Does it require Ferrari dealership help, thank you.
No it does not require Dealership assistance, But I recommend finding a local race shop that has dealt with this type of vehicle to help setup and assist you at the track. You have to remember that this is a Race car, and setup is important. I have many friends that trailer their challenge cars to track events and run them alone. The key is maintenance and service, along with Proper nut and bolt and cleanup.
