Didn't you mean pre-race mood? While he normally seems to enjoy talking on TV before the race, he asked not to be disturbed yesterday.

Judging by the article, he was involved in the decision to drive with the tire-killing setup. And him obviously feeling quite tense and stressed before the race was due to the fact that he did not know if his tires were to disintegrate at >300km/h, yet he still prefered that to starting from the pit lane.

Such a level of determination is downright scary if you ask me...

My thoughts exactly given the heathly lead he has.

In the interview I saw, Newey said that after technical discussions with Pirelli they worked out that the tyres damaged from qualifying would be safe for 3 laps for Webber and 5 for Vettel, so that's what they did and probably explains why they were slow in that first stint...maybe. All smoke and mirrors.

Yup, however I would imagine that was a very very jittery race for all concerned at RedBull.

He did seem a tad nervous, didn't he?

Sounds like Pirelli wasn't too happy about it either.

Did we ever hear what the story was with Vettel's computer display being jittery and all?

As usual Speed TV made a big story out of it. Was it really the car's computer going on the Fritz or was it just a loose data connection to the steering wheel display?

I was so disappointed that the interviewer didn't ask about that in the post race session.

I don't think it was actually the computer, I think it was just the display screen that was flickering. Surely there would have been a bigger issue if the actual computer was failing

I'm not known for being a Webber fan, but that was definitely one of the top passes of the year. No question. An amazing move that had me hiding behind my hands expecting an almighty crash, followed by involuntary leaping off the sofa yelping at the screen in admiration. True quality.

I too thought that this pass might end in tears.....reminded me of the Ickx/Bellof incident in 1985 as it was happening. Thankfully, they moved the hillside back and did not change the corner.

I believe one of the commentators on Speed referenced that accident during the broadcast.

I also have to hand it Alonso as well for catching sight of him, and giving him just enough room, as we know looked what happened to Lewis for not checking his mirrors.

    Awesome pass.

    Belloff..so sad.

That Belloff video, could not have been made better by Hollywood with the eerie shots. So sad, what a talented young man, the original Schu/Vettel.

Great pass by Webber, and thank god Alonso had enough sense to leave enough room.
