I'm not a Ford guy, but if I was buying a new car... (instead of an R8..) I'd buy this now!!! They blew me away when I saw it... The '69 was my favorite of the Shelby's ... until they made the Mustang look just like it (+ bigger) This is a new Mustang with all new panels ,less roof and doors... Looks cool.. http://www.retrobuilt.com/

interesting, but the scale is a bit off. more so on the coupe than the convertible. The current Mustang is somewhat conservative, styling-wise, but by far the best of the retro muscle cars (Mustang, Camaro, Challenger).

out of curiosity, were any of Carroll Shelby's attorneys wandering around SEMA? :D

You get a lot of car for the money, even with the extra cost of the Shelby option. I don't post in the section much, but come in to read a bit. I've been toying with the idea of acquiring a new Mustang, they look correct - not chunky like some of the other current retro mods - and in GT or Shelby form, they pack a lot of punch.

The local dealer has a couple of Roush Stage 3 Mustangs. Nice, but they are priced - in my opinion - out of Mustang territory, closer to 360 Coupe numbers.

Coupe looks alright, the A pillar on the vert looks wrong. That being said, even though they are not my taste they are interesting and I can see that if you were a Mustang person this might be very attratcive. I wish someone would take this sort of initiative with the Camaro...

agreed, tremendous performance bargains. GT w/ Brembo kit is an M3 with $15k in the glovebox :)

Roush/Saleen cars never appealed to me at those costs-much better alternatives, and you'll take a bath on depreciation.

    Sorry, me no likey.

On a side note, I hate what Shelby has come to stand for in the last couple of decades and I do not like anything he made after about '66.

(Wow, I sound really grumpy... but at least you know how I feel.)

Terrible, terrible, terrible. I would only buy one to dump it into the deepest part of the ocean in the hopes it would never be seen again.

Reminds me more of a Daytona than a Mustang.

Wow, I guess I'm in the minority here but I like it quite a bit. Haven't drove one but have seen quite a few. Gotta love the q-ball shifter, 550HP or whatever and I can put my little daughter in the back. I think the car droped like 100 or so lbs for '11 model year. Plus 2 yrs from now used one's should be $35-40K making it a lot of car for the money.

I like the Ford version of the 2011 GT500, I just don't like this tarted up, retro, body kit version.

Oh, I love the GT500, but the one the OP is speaking of is just ugly.
