Nice day there. Mclaren are doing the business. Red Bull ok Ferrari looking not as good as Japan so far. Q2 is ongoing now.
FA running a new development wing. Felipe using the old configuration. 2012 machine is being developed id say
Yeah, I think McLaren needs to get rid of Hamilton. The only guy to break the Red Bull domination. I wonder what would have happened if his final runs weren't botched the last two qualis.
Great qualy. Q3 just ended. Enjoy if you are waiting for the replay. Time to get outside and enjoy the nice weather around my area here!
They were sandbagging the first couple of rounds of qualifying, but I don't think they planned to throw the record string of poles out the window...not based on how Vettel came alive in Q3. Looks like Macca and RBR are pretty even again. I think it was a dramatic session.
Yeah, Hamilton is washed up, slow, crappy, should beg HRT to let him drive so he can learn how to drive (which can only be done in a crap car), etc, etc. Either that or he should be immediately killed. The F-chat braintrust hath deemed it so.
Post quali McHam looked as though he was in the midst of a nervous breakdown. Words were there but it was impossible not to notice he was on the edge.
I think that's called "game face", i.e. he won't be vindicated unless he wins the race tomorrow. The job is only half-completed at this point.
That says nervous breakdown to you? He wasn't any more reserved than Vettel really. He smiled, thanked the team and said it's tomorrow that really counts. Maybe he's tired. Maybe he had diarrhea all morning and feels like crap. Maybe he knows if he emotes too much, the haters will lolz if he doesn't get the win. Maybe he's focused on tomorrow. Maybe he thought the questions were kind of dumb (they were.... "it's your first pole in over a year" and "how important is it to win tomorrow given your recent results?"). I guess people see what they want to see. Doesn't say "nervous breakdown to me", but then again, I'm not a hater, so I don't know what they see
LH has stated he will need time to recover from this year. He has stated he is not 100% sure of what his real problems are. I have not been posting much about his downfall per se. Only a few tweaks and he is back on top. He has too much talent not to succeed. That being said he is not being as open as he has in the past, and to me is looking for the balance or right set of parameters to address the press and give just enough and not create even more issues so to speak. If you check the BBC sport site there is alot there to consider it. The real story is about Button now taking over the team according to the British press. That may really be the issue. LH realizing his reign is not over but altered so to speak at Mclaren.
The British mainstream press is about as reliable as The National Enquirer in the USA. They are world renowned for digging up dirt where none exists. Button and Lewis will finish the season very very close. That such a result is called a domination by Button speaks volumes. He's (Button) the current golden boy of the press, but wait and see - the moment he starts to do badly, he'll be crucified in the press (and on here). It's just how the British press works. As for Lewis, I would say it's equally likely that he doesn't really give much of a crap what anyone else thinks and is perfectly happy to be asked a million questions and provide no answers. He's certainly had the worse luck this year, as well as been more aggressive and lost out on more of those bets than most. But it is only the press (British, mainly) that are taking a several race slight slump (it's not like he's finishing out of the points) and creating this farcical story that Button is now the #1 driver, that Lewis has lost his mojo, or greatest of all (right here on f-chat) that Lewis is washed up and "it's over". It's no different than last year when Ferrari had, what 3 or 4 bad races in a row? And we heard here and in the press that they need to fire the whole team, fire the Italians, hire Brits, fire the drivers, write off the whole season and just focus on the next. F1 fans have the attention spans of goldfish. They live utterly in the moment
Hamilton finally gets a pole and SRTMike comes out of the woodwork...haha Anyway, nice lap by LH the start will be real interesting tomorrow especially with the long straights.
There was definitely something different about Hamilton's composure after setting pole. Obviously you missed that. Before qualifying the BBC commentary said there were some personal issues. Maybe that played a part.
That will be a great start. No surprise LH has pole. JB and Vettel will be gunning for him. Ferrari look a bit down but race pace has been the strength all season!
