2011 Long Beach GP ***Spoilers***

the "American Monaco GP" (big grain of salt ) is this weekend. I'll be there tomorrow and Sunday with a few hundred thousand of my closest friends beautiful weather expected for the weekend.

ALMS and Indycar are competing, along with the associated support series. lots of on-track action, including the Risi and ESM 458's

Damn! That should make a good race! Dunno how I can watch this on TV in my third world country.

 

Chas, I saw PT's 2010 race suits the other day and even I can fit into them.

yeah, he was great in CanAm and F5000. decent success with Rahal as well. then a series of bad years as a mid-to-backmarker team.

'99 was a good year, with Helio and the Lola (although they had the wrong engine); Carl closed the team after that year and he passed away in '01.

Risi just posted that Extreme Speed loaned them a rear wing. Pretty cool stuff. Can't wait for the race to start. I'm deskbound today, so radiolemans will help me through.

I'm standing in turn 1 as the ALMS cars go out to grid.

a prototype rolls by and the guy next to me says "what the hell is THAT!?!"

 

I was able to log into my comcast account here at work, so espn3 is working.

I told him it was the new Mustang

only fair since this morning I had to tell someone that a new 458 (road car) was a Ferrari and not a Mustang.

 

Ugh; I just realized it was on and logged on to ESPN 3 to less < 2 mins to go and a yellow flag.

 

Checkered flag under yellow. Good drive by AMR, and nice catch-up job by Risi! Pretty good action.
