Did we see some of the Schumacher nastiness when Hamilton passed? He touched him. Schumi turned in on him but he avoided it, looks like he was looking for a fight. Schumi's questionable tactics as an 'also ran' rather than a reigning champion look a lot more devious. Hamilton pulled off a brillant pass.

Monaco is insanely expensive. Nice is affordable and has rooms and is only a train ride away. Plus it is way more interesting as a city.

Google Le Luc, AGS and F1 and you will find them. Depending on how many laps costs 3k and up. All day program with F3 to warm up. Cars from the nineties and early naughts. Stick or paddle. AGS, Prost, Arrows and generic ones.
They speak English although there are a lot of Germans and Swiss.
Le Luc is near St Tropez. They have the event in the week before the GP. They also run them at Paul Ricard for big cash.

The English part of the website is not fully translated, so you find more info looking at the German original text (let me know if you want me to translate something).

As I said, they do speak English the the participants.

Just back from my 20th trip to the GP de MC. Yes, rooms in MC are very hard to find (and several hotels have closed in recent years, while only a few new ones have opened), and they can be very pricey. Nevertheless, I've stayed in town for years (after a few early years in Nice, Beaulieu, etc.) at figures much lower than quoted here.
If you want a room in MC (or within easy walking distance, in French towns such as Cap d'Ail or Beausoleil) start early and contact each hotel in which you're interested. You avoid the train or parking hassles (which are considerable), and benefit from seeing the action build daily as Sunday approaches. Here's a link to a list of hotels: http://www.visitmonaco.com/en/Plan-your-stay/Hotels .

Hope you enjoyed your seats. I was in the top row of K2 for qualifying and top of K5 for the race, and was very pleased. It's nice to be able to stand whenever you like, and to see the Start/Finish straight and the run up to Ste. Devote over your shoulder. The view from the chopper on the flight in is great, isn't it?

No. That was brilliant driving from two great racers.
