If it was just the wedding I wouldn't care...Its the Stag Party. Those are much harder to miss.
Its my wife's family. I need the "evidence". All I have so far is hearsay and therefore not admissible. I can get photo's, video and (knowing these guys) DNA at a stag.
I forgot my camera, but Dean came through for us. Here are a few pictures from the Travelers Championship - First Tee Charity Event. The event was supposed to be a display of Ferraris to draw folks over to the event. We were limited to 10 cars, and despite the weather being deplorable, most folks ventured out. The TPC was a mess due to all the rain with mud running across the paved road, so we will be scrubbing mud off the cars for a while. That said, it is always an enjoyable evening when a group of friends can get together for good food, drink, and conversation. Tori was so disappointed that our babysitter fell through and she was not able to make it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice day at the gathering....limited attendance due to the car show across the street. We had about 8 Ferrari's and a few other marques. The Bike's turned out in force and beat the Ferrari count. Got wet on the way home with one of those "widely scattered" showers. A Vette stopped under a bridge to install his roof (P*SSY), I simply accelerated. If you go fast enough, the water never enters the cab. I looked at the radar when I got home and found the shower was about 3 miles wide and it was the only place in CT where rain fell.
Saw DJ Mike's 308 at Mark's Cruise night tonight, but I don't think I have ever met him to know what he looks like. There was also a 330 GTS there that was really nice. Field conditions were wet, though. It was Mustang night, so I felt I needed to go.
DJ mike and Myself made the trek to Marks, I had never been , what a huge show ( over 800 cars) . I think it would be great if we could get a group of the Gathering to go.
I usually take the 308 and TR to Mark's once or twice a season and I've never run across another Ferrari there. Last time I went I had ticket # 858. Great show, but it could use some prancing horses. I'm in if we can put a group together.
I've taken my Ferrari as well. I was alone in a sea of muscle cars. I would be interested in doing a Mark's show as a group. I think they have an import night but we could pick any Monday.
It's near Bradley Airport on the road that goes behind the airport where the National Guard Unit has an A-10 on display. (Correction, it's the next street down from the Air National Guard Unit... don't listen to me! They have a map on the site.) Link: http://www.markscruisenight.com/
I sent them an email inquiry to see if they have an "import" or "european" focus night scheduled. Regardless, count me in.
ok- when are we going? it is very close to the airport- so we should be able to get the MA guys down. side note- McDonald's in Glastonbury does their little cruise every Tuesday night went by earlier seemed like a nice turnout.
It's not being held on July 4th (unsurprisingly). The next event on July 11th is the Firebird Club, but of course, all cars are welcome. I found some 2010 guidance on "special events" via google, although this is apparently not accessible via their main page: http://www.markscruisenight.com/news.html Short story is that _if_ we wanted to do an Italian-themed night we need to set this up by appointment, have 15 cars committed, and three of us would volunteer to arrive before 4:30 pm to help with parking, et. al. A trophy is awarded at the end of ceremonies. On the other hand, it might be interesting if a whole bunch of us show up en masse and unannounced on some random night. It would probably be amusing. Charles
I would suggest a meeting spot for the North and South bounders to meet and everyone roll in together. Just have a fun night and not a special event. You park how you arrive, so try to enter together. There are land marks close to Marks show with decent parkinglots for cars to gather. It would be fun!
I'm definitely in for a Mark's cruise, I've also never been there before but heard of it. I heard from some it wasn't so Italian friendly...but I'm still game. for ALMS...who's in? Our Ducati friends offered to pitch the tent (Lane's, I think) in the same location as last time...I vote meeting whoever is driving up at Burlington Dunkin Donuts around 9-9:30. Sound like a plan?
I'm going to ALMS for sure. Wife and I are free for two weeks while kids are at grandmas so I am taking her along. I would be interested in the Marks cruise as well. --Mike
gurslo: Your comment is exactly right. A special event seems an unnecessary complication. So how does the 18th of July sound? As far as a meeting spot goes, two places come to mind: One of the Bradley Air Museum. The other is the Stop and Shop and Target on Kennedy Rd near exit 39 on I-91. Maybe someone more local has a better idea... Thoughts? Charles ps regrettably not going to ALMS, other commitments. Will be at Ferrari Challenge though.
Jay is that across from the driving range were we have met before? I like the 9-9:30 time. I can also form a group in GBury at around 8-8:30 for those wanting to head over to meet at Dunkin Donuts. --Mike
Both the 11th and the 18th sound good to me. I've been there on a "Corvette Night" and there was the usual mix of everything else and an area set aside for the Vettes. I don't think we'd infringe on the Firebird Club, other than we'd steal the show. So maybe the 18th is best!! Coming from the North or South, the Air Museum Lot works good as it's only about a 1/2 mile to the show and plenty of room to gather. The easiest way to the Museum is off Rt. 75 at the north side of the field. Take I-91 exit 40, Rt.20 W (2 miles), and Rt.75 N. (2-1/2 miles). Entrance is on the left at the end of the runway, and drive approx. 1 mile in to the museum on right. And I might add... expect large crowds on a good night.
