Wow, how have I never heard of this cruise night when I live only a few miles away!?

Anyway, would you guys mind a German in your midst going to Mark's? Would an M3 even fit in? It's not Italian like the rest of you, and it's not a classic being only 10 years old. Maybe I should just stick with Gbury on Sundays.

July 11th works for me. Unfortunately the 18th doesn't. To answer questions about if it is OK to bring a particular car, everything is welcome. There will be a large volume of american cars but you will see a little bit of everything. They even have a motorcycle section.

A friend of mine took his M3 a couple of years ago. He was highly insulted when the guy directing the parking asked him if he wanted to park with the imports. It turned out to be a bunch of kids with Hondas and flat black hoods!

Man, that's just grim. There are probably very few regulars who know what an M3 is -- no offense to them, it's just not their thing. Sounds unfortunate. Deutsch Marques: I don't know what to say, maybe if you sneak in amidst a bunch of Italian hardware you can park in safety and comfort :)

Falcon further wrote: "July 11th works for me. Unfortunately the 18th doesn't."

Well, it's by no means cast in stone. The 25th as well as later dates are options as well. More important that we can find a night where hopefully all interested parties can attend. Understood that the logistics will seldom work that way in practice.

philvecc wrote: "I don't think we'd infringe on the Firebird Club, other than we'd steal the show. So maybe the 18th is best!!"

In all seriousness I think you have a good point. "Exotics" are a distraction, people can get emotional about their cars, and even in a field of 800+ cars someone might perceive it the wrong way. (Especially with a pile of us arriving simultaneously). Maybe in matters like this it is best to take a diplomatic tact so as not to offend. I might be over-thinking it, but I've seen hostile attitudes regarding some very innocent stuff when people see what they regard as a spoiler to their special night. Truth is there's probably no cause for concern, but I'd rather err on the side of caution, and hence, do another date.

    So maybe another date?

BTW, planning on Glastonbury for the 3rd here... horsie needs exercise.

    Again my .o2,
Don't sweat the small stuff! The only one concerned about what your driving is you. Everyone is there for the night out with friends and fun.
As far as worrying about wrecking anyones show, don't , every week is different at Marks. That's what I think draws people there. It's a big area, attracts car owners from different parts. The group having the event that night may even be glad exotics came on their night because if it wasn't their night they may not have come. There's endless ways to look at it.
I'll be back by the 10th so what ever plays out I'll try to join.(as long as its not raining) ok I had to throw that in there, I'll never live that down.lol.

OK, so who's up for the 11th? If rain threatens we'll do the 25th.

I'm not sure about the 11th. Don't know if my wife or family has anything planned for my birthday. What time would the meeting at the air museum be?

Oh, is there an admission fee to the Cruise?

There's no admission charge for Cruise Night. The venue opens at 5pm. I suspect that a lot of us have schedules that might not permit us to arrive when it opens.

The Bradley Air Museum is open 'til 5 pm, so maybe congregating in their parking lot sometime after that would work.

So I have been going back and forth on replacing the Audi A4. I could not decide what I wanted as a new car. I finally pulled the trigger today and put a deposit down and ordered my new car.

I ordered the new 2012 Chrylser 300S. It is not out (or being produced) yet but it will be Black on Black with the big Hemi V8. It is the exact model Dr. Dre is driving in the new promotional video. The car should hit the assembly line sometime in August and arrive sometime in September.

I am a little nervous about a Rer Wheel Drive car in the winter, but I'm sure a good set of Blizzaks and a bunch of sand bags in the truck can over come mother nature. I just could not resist the ability to be able to do donuts in a big executive sedan (an AWD option was available).

Be sure to get dedicated snow tires not sport winter tires. I have rear wheel drive and it is great in the snow with snow tires on it.

Good luck and congrats Mike to you and your wife.

Drove through good rainstorm on way home. It was first time on the highway with rain in that car. The aerodynamics are amazing, was like visualizing wind tunnel tests, at 80mph, the rain cascaded over the car and I did not need the wipers at all and not a drop on the back glass until I got off the exit and came to a stop.
