I'll actually be out towards Chesterfield for work on Monday and should be done with everything around 4 if anybody knows where to see anything cool running around other than at the Dealership. I'll have my camera and I'm hoping to get some shots of something while I'm out there. Thanks, Kevin.
Aside from STLM and EMM, there really is no great place to find exotics...there is usually a Maserati Granturismo parked behind Amini's but that is about it for 'regular' spotting...everything is quite hit and miss and all of the exotics I see are usually quite unexpected.
the lindbergh and clayton, or lindbergh and ladue areas are usually pretty good for spotting, but for the most part, all you'll get is a bunch of benz's and bimmers, with the occasional bentley/rolls
for exotics, Town & Country/Chesterfield was better than Clayton/Ladue in my experience. old money doesn't drive flashy cars...
Agreed. I see my share of Bentleys and Maseratis around Clayton, but like you said, you have to follow the newer money west to see truly exotic cars.
Not Bentleys and Maseratis...they are way too common here. Out here you can find Lambos, Ferraris, and more of the higher end exotics.
Ryan, thanks for clarifying what I meant to say in my previous post. It's certainly nothing against Maseratis and Bentleys, as I love them both, and they're definitely exotic by almost anyone's definition of the word. It's just that I see them much more often in the areas I frequent (like Clayton and the Central West End) than rarer exotics like Ferraris and Lamborghinis. Generally speaking, you're more likely to find them west of I-270, especially in the valley, at least based on my spotting experiences.
Maybe I can head out west while we're down from Illinois for the Euro show. I'd like to see these nice finds..
We may not be able to attend this year afterall. Let me know if someone needs Prugna's spot. Flying with the Gulfstream visiting all the finest places. Leave for London in the morning (looking forward to that one) with next week to probably include Nigeria, Namibia and Ivory Coast. Got back from Dakar this afternoon. Jeff
It's found a new home :-( fox valley/Lamborghini Chicago bought it in march only after they tried to rip me off...
the green hornet is great! had it at Willow Springs yesterday for the first time; a few guys in race prepped civics and miatas asked me what I'd done to it. Sorry guys, it's bone stock on street tires; you're just slow I will say though on a big horsepower track like Willow, I see the benefit of a supercharger
Sera and i will be there. Shes not in her best of shape as I haven't had time to get her detailed up (I do it myself). But we will be there none the less. Jeff please be careful in Africa and I pray that you got all your shots and some anti malaria meds. Nigeria is in a state of flux and there are also alot of strange goings on with the voodoo stuff. Someone may want your organs or may want to wear a Jeff skin suit. Just be careful and come back safe. Remember while in the bush in namimbia the local guide outside your tent at night with the gun thats is suppose to stay awake to shoot the lions...may or may not do so. I travel in up armoured vehicles and it is still a scary place. Best wishes come back safe. Dave
Abuja is safe where we are. In a private compound; the principal usually has a few gun toting police types hanging around. When he drives somewhere there is a police and/or military escort. He had an invite delivered to him for the presidential innauguration dinner last night. The Hilton is a few blocks away from here. Tis afternoon we do a flight with the president of Sierra Leone from Abuja to Freetown. Drop off then return back to Abuja. In Windhoek we stayed at the Windhoek Hotel & Resort. Looked to be a nice place and the weather was much cooler than here. Too bad we got in at night and then left the hotel by 10:00 am. What we were able to see was mostly out the windows of the hotel or the car. Allegedly back to London in a few weeks. Jeff
Yes, there will be tidbits. President of Sierra Leone like wine - took home several cases of CNdP. Jeff
anyone want to grab dinner after the show? it'll have to be relatively early, i've got a 3.5 hour drive ahead of me after the show,
Since it appears that we will not be attending can someone take photos of the Ferarri group at the event? I want to have these for the club newsletter and for submittal to the FCA national publications. As part of this if there can be a listing of the F-cars it would be helpful./ Jeff
