My reference by leaking memory seems to be correct (just wikipediaed Surer): Surer's 4th place in the Brabham was the best most recent result by a Swiss. Lettuce just beat that.
I'm happy for Kimi, but at the same time I don't believe he deserves this. He steps into the team after being gone two years and doesn't develop the car at all, and then as a gift he does well. It's like his 2007 WDC, not deserved IMO. That said, congrats to him!
Second tire stint: Fernando, Massa Is Faster Than You. WTFO? Massa on options, Alonso on primes, and yet they still wouldn't let Felipe pass? That tossed Massa back behind Ham at the pit rotation. Who is calling that "strategy"? Strategy no better than the pickup truck - er - race car. Bahrain to Spain is three weeks (oh the pain!).
Huh? He drives a mid-pack car to the podium, but doesn't deserve it? Isn't it more impressive that he could be gone for 2 years and get second place in his 4th race back?
The car was clearly not a mid pack car today as both cars were very competitive. I'm glad he had a good drive today, but he did nothing to develop this car last year and is basically reaping the fruits of others labor. Just like his 2007 WDC.
