I just sold my 99 355 GTS and I'm looking for something else, this time it's my wife that is picking out a new car with suggestions from me. I plan on buying another Fcar just not for at least a year now.

I found a gorgeous 2012 BMW 650i xdrive that I really like. I've never owned a BMW although I have had Audi and VW and found the Germans make some great machines. We aren't in any rush as there are many contenders to look at including Aston Martin Vantage and Audi S5.

So what are your thoughts on the BMW?

That BMW is very comfortable car to drive. I never owned one. I would prefer s M5 or M6 they are very competant cars. BMWs seem to have elecrical problems in the 4th year of ownership. I had non while I owned mine.

I did own a Aston martin Vantage V8. It was a very comfortable car and gave me no problems over the few years I had this car. The dealer put a muffler on the car that just made the car sound wonderful yet still classy.

I do own a Audi R8 V10 and it is a stunning car to drive while being a luxury vehicle. No trouble but I have only had it 2 years.

    Good luck whatever you buy.

I've never driven the 4wd BMW's, I think I would probably prefer the RWD model to the 4WD anyway, but the new 6 series is a gorgeous car in my view. Very very good looking with an understated elegance, even though it's on the long side (especially compared to the S5, which I'm also a big fan of).

I love BMW's, and have been enjoying the newer models a lot. I think it would be an excellent car to own, just very different from your 355. But you probably know that.

My wife has a 2013 650i Xdrive convertible. I don't know when the engine changed from 400 to 450HP, but you might want to check that.

We need a 4WD car upstate NY, where our weekend place is. We can have snow up to three months in the Catskill Mountains, so that and snow tires are a must.

Very competent car, unbelievable at long distances. Last week we drove more than 900 mi in one day, and were not exhausted at all. It is a big car, but the rear quarters are cramped for adults, but we are making due when necessary.

Not much excitement, but about the best modern 4WD car you can get.

I've got a 2012 650i loaded up, including the M package rims, interior, upgraded stereo, contrast stitching, etc...

For creature comforts, drive, it's awesome - very perfected in many ways.

I couldn't personally seem to get attached to it - so I'll likely be moving on from it sometime soon... My wife has a new X5 - M - (same power as the new M-6), and it's much more involving with the extra 100 HP.... you might try out a new M-6 for comparison..

    Good Luck!
