I’m considering my first California. A 2012. It has 13,000 miles. I know the motor mounts were replaced, fuel pump, and a couple computer modules. Is these anything in particular I should be looking for? I read something about defective crankshafts from manufacturer. And I believe some were replaced as a recall. Is that right?

I know it has sticky button syndrome. So that’ll have to be addressed. Any one with experience with the cost of replacing sticky buttons at the dealer? It looks, in photos, that the AC Controls has a sticky look to it as well.

Any advice you could offer a newbie to the California would be appreciated.

Convertible top is the biggest issue. Mine had to be rebuilt at 35,000 miles.

Is that related to all Californias? Or is it specific to 2012's? Also, if you don't mind me asking, how financially painful was having the top mechanism rebuilt?

Top issues are same for all Calis & Cali-Ts. I think getting the power top rebuilt was about 10k.
