That is fantastic! I went to the Australian F1 race in 1997 and Melbourne is a very civilized place to watch a race. After all of the racing is over, stroll over to the other side of Albert Park, listen to one of the bands playing and then walk into downtown and choose which nice restaurant for dinner.

A bonus was sitting two rows behind Elle McPherson the next day on the flight back to Sydney!

    Have a great time!

I was going to suggest that Turn 5 was a good viewing spot but then I remembered that you will be a VIP sitting over the pits!

It doesn't get much better than that!

    John,

Boy that sounds like a very good time. In 1987 I was crew on a VW super Vee team. We were the warm up in the morning of the Formula one race in Detroit. At that time SV was the minor league for Indy cars and other forms of professional racing. We were pad dock inside Detroit Cobal Hall along with F1 teams. It was great, Had free rein of the pits etc. The SV race Sunday morning followed F1 warmup, all the F1 cars were in the pits also. Alboretto, and Senna and other drivers were milling in the pits real close watching the SV race.It was as close as you could get.
How far is Australia from NZ? I know you Kiwi's love motor sports, but how well do you mates get along with the Auzi's?
