That is interesting to say the least. I thought that they were going to come out with an all new super car by then?

    Not an Enzo replacement?

    A "Special Series?"

As in, something that builds on FXX?

    Interesting.

The Enzo still looks very modern to me, so a street legal FXX type of car with the same styling would be great. An Enzo Scuderia.

How about an open top Enzo--similar to MC 12.

That's kind of disappointing. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love the Enzo. In fact, it's my personal favorite... but I was so excited for a brand new fresh supercar. Too bad...

    +1

It looks like Ferrari wants to make a few quick bucks, and more power to them. The Enzo will probbly now be more successful than it's replacement. But I am sure the next gen super car from them will have a hardcore version eventually, too.

I have a problem with these articles because some of what they try to pawn off as facts are actually crap. First, the Stradale/Scuderia version of the 458 won't be called the 458 Scuderia. Secondly, the 599 isn't internally known as the F152 - its chassis type is F141 ABE, and its engine type is F140C.

Does anyone have a link to the actual press release details?

IMO this is a total misreading and the "New Ferrari Enzo" will be a new car TT V8, smaller than an Enzo with active aero.

    You're right Jim,
based on this full product plan presentation to the Fiat shareholders (even well done by italians it should be serious), Ferrari is hopfully preparing a new "enzo" model for 2012, as part of their strategy to selectively exploit "Special series" targeting high end customers (such as 599 GTO in 2010 and 458 scuderia in 2013), then we have to wait confirmation for the definition of this "new enzo", V8 TT?, why not as far as the weight would be limited also.

Just spoke with a dealer this weekend. Ferrari sent all the dealers an email Friday that the Enzo's successor will be in the US by 2013. They will be on the street in Europe & probably China in 2012 but they'll be here in 2013.

He also told me the car will have butterfly doors but didn't give me any specs.

As for the TT V8 I dunno I'm kinda confused because Ferrari is asking FXX owners to send their cars back to Italy for some 100 HP upgrade for more testing. If the Enzo's successor is based on the FXX it will be V12. But Jim knows far more than me.....................

    That's interesting.

That means we should start seeing some prototype spy shots showing up within the next year. I wonder if they'll do a crazy conversion like they did with the Enzo engine.

In 2012-2013 there should be a brand new Enzo as the factory will surely keep 8-10 year gap between models (the Enzo was launched in 2002 I think)
I think the article is incorrect in stating it will be an Enzo/FXX development as it should be a clean sheet development.
HOpe the new Enzo (should we call it F60 or F70?) will not be turbo V8.. That would be a step back in my view; however, 288 GTO and F40 were turbocharged V8s, so...

Anyway, what is really strange that there are no test mules yet. If they gonna launch it in 2012, the basics must finished by now and they should only be testing it.

I hope the opposite, I think a TT V8 would be awesome. Just like the 288 GTO and F40!

I agree. I don't believe for a second that Ferrari would try to sell an updated 10 year old car.

With Euro Pollution regulations, MPG requirements, and the necessity to save weight IMO it will be a TT V8.

IMO The Enzo will be the last of the Monsters...

That's where its going, Turbo's are more fuel/emissions efficient. I wonder if they'll use their electric hybrid system as well (ala Porsche 918)...?
