I had a recent breakdown which was traced to corrosion on pin 30 of the ion ECU.

Yesterday, my car had multiple warning lights again, and it was taken to another Ferrari main dealer. I have heard back that the issue is corrosion to the ECU wiring. I understand, but there are 3 or 4 ECUs under a panel at the front top of the engine. Does it sound like we will need new wiring harnesses, or will it just be a question of cleaning the connectors?

Has anyone suffered from this before?

    Many thanks

I just looked at the length and complexity of that wiring harness!
I very much hope that cleaning and something like dielectric grease will be all I need

The techs were in contact with the Ferrari factory about this.
They advised swapping over the left and right ecus (to see if the issue moved) but this seemed to fix the issue.
Would dielectric grease prevent this poor connection issue in the future?

Image Unavailable, Please Login The car arrived back from the Ferrari dealership today, and within five minutes of me using the vehicle I got a whole load of warning lights again. Two different Ferrari dealerships have now looked at the car and both say that it is the Connections at the plugs to the ECUs, but neither garage have been able to fix the problem so far. It happens when the car has sat in heavy traffic for at least 30 minutes, so the engine temperature is pretty high. Corroded wise and connections are not covered by my Ferrari warranty, but I’m starting to worry that there may be something wrong with one of the soldier joints in the ECUs, which become affected by the heat from the engine. This would be covered by the warranty. Heat affecting joints in ECUs was very common on Mercedes SLK’s like my mothers. When the car got hot, it refused to restart until it cooled down. I re-soldered a cracked joint which fixed it.

Are there any techs on here? I attach some of the most recent codes following the car being delivered back to me by Ferrari today!

Was battery / charging system checked

Sounds simple and trivial bit you would be surprised on how many errors you get for a weak battery

Sorry must have missed that about - that being said - a cheap cig lighter monitor that shows voltage could prove useful ..looking at voltage at start-up, running , after a few days sitting
If you exhausted this avenue - i apologize in advance

You are having some serious bad luck! I can’t help, but I can empathize.
