And Freese goes yard...all those talking heads (gotta admit, myself included) thought offensive production would go down this year, man am I glad to be wrong!

The Birds are stranding too many runners tonight. Sure, they're ahead by 2.... but they've stranded probably 10 men tonight?

probably, they stranded 3 in the first...

although that's the curse of a high powered offense, if you're not playing small ball you end up stranding a lot of guys.

That's a winner! I think Mike Shannon may start getting tired of saying "get up baby, get up get up get up!" by the end of the year

LOL!!!! Man do I miss the good ole days of Jack Buck and Mike Shannon together in the booth, come the seventh inning stretch they were so incoherent you'd hear things like that coming out of the booth, haha

Chas - I'm beginning to agree with you, I kind of like this schedule, if we keep this up through May, we can pretty much take the rest of the season off and still win the central, and not play in Bud's stupid little 1 game play-in series...

this schedule is only good if we kill it in April. otherwise you're playing catch up all season.

I still remember when I was young Jack Herman (the former official scorer for the Cards, he was one of parent's friends father in law) brought me into the broadcast booth, I still remember Jack looking right at me, made my day and year, :) Like I said during the WS, no matter how hard Joe Buck tries he'll never be on the level of his dad - and I hate to say it, but Vin Scully is about all that's left from the "glory days" of radio broadcasting.

Albert Pujol$ is hitting .214, with his RBI's equalling Ozzie Smith's jersey number, and his HR total is that number - 1 at a true cost of 12,000,000 this season. Meanwhile David Freese is making $508,000 while hitting .444 with 3 HR's and 10 RBI's. I know its early and it's a long season, but still, :)

It hasn't been a great game. A bit sloppy, IMHO.

Matheny and/or Lilliquist don't seem to sharp on late game bullpen moves.

granted, so far it hasn't made much of a difference, but this game is making me nervous.
