Anyone know of a hydraulic hose maker in CT? After my attempt to get one out of Europe failed I guess that is my only choice now. Now way I am paying what they want for one here. Its actually a very simple braided pressure line with ends similar to brake fittings, but I am not sure of the flair.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Mike,

Try truck/ heavy equipment/boat shops. The hard part might be matching the fittings. Shops can rebuild the hose using your fittings, if its the hose itself that failed.

Just spoke with a buddy in the trucking industry. He suggests three companies starting with "the parker store". That's Parker as in Parker Hannifin ... makers of many of the fittings in the world.
Turns out there's one in Manchester ... Run Forest Run.

Mike, give a call to Jim McGee at Pocono Sportscar. He has a hydraulic hose guy in the same building that he said could do my F1 hoses if needed, and rebuild the actuator.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I am starting at the top of the list with Lane's shop in Manchester. I gave them a call and they said they should be able to duplicate the hose. I will be bringing it down to them on Friday I hope, if not then next week. If they can't I will be trying the others.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Quiet morning. Most of the core was here. Lost a few to the Greenwich Concours. Started with a stop at Mikey's house to bleed his clutch after the hose replacement. All is now well until he starts to fool with unbroken stuff again. You know his car is about to puke when he says ..."you know what I need to do"...

Haven't driven the 430 for two weeks. Bummed that I missed today. Last weekend was out of town for my brothers surprise 40th party. This weekend I had family staying over and they didn't leave until this afternoon, right before the skies opened up here.

One year later we are still cleaning up from our apre tornado party. Hope to make it to some car events this year.

Pics from recent clean up day at a property in Brimfield.

Simon with the most important duty of the day - guarding the doughnut holes at what is left of his home.

The clean up crew - filthy but satisfied with the day's effort.
We all enjoyed working with this wonderful family.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this year !!!!

I'll be there... Dunno about anyone else.

The Afternoon will be filled with more wrenching. Been an exciting month for that crap so far.

    1) Wifeys Yukon needed new brake pads...did the fronts and got sidetracked...gotta do the rears.

    2) Audi has 2 CEL's. Turns out the Turbo waste gate has a torn diaphragm and the fuel filter is clogged. Fingers crossed on the filter...if that's not it, the low pressure fuel pump is bad. That Friggen thing is in the tank. Brakes are worn badly but I'll save that job for a few weeks. Still have 2mm.

    3) Just finished daughters brake line replacement. She blew it out on the way to work this morning. "Daddy...something is wrong with my brakes. The pedal goes right to the floor." 25 Custom plumbing bends and 120" of 3/16" line later and I can't properly bleed it because the bleed valve is rusted over. Got it close enough bleeding from line connection VS. bleed valve. Gonna have to pull the wheel cylinder to get it done right. (Friggen drum brakes).

Anyone wanna come play? I'll supply beer, burgers, tools and parts.

Oh and Lil Bastage started a detailing business with his friend. Somehow I'm out of the Captains Best and the car is full of rain spots from the Limerock TransAm weekend. Can someone bring some decent detail spray tomorrow?

I'll be there for a couple of hours tomorrow, not sure if it will be the blue, green or red car. I'll try to be in the blue one.

Lane, I've been doing the same. 3rd time bleeding a Delphi IV ABS system this AM, really hard to get air out of it without the GM service tool. In the past three weeks I've replaced 6 wheel bearings, 4 calipers, 4 rotors, two hubs, two control arms, cleaned a throttle body and egr valve, fixed a vacuum leak, repaired and lubed a shift linkage, did the throttle cable on the Mondial, did a bunch of oil changes and today took a headliner out of another car and found out that fiberglass is itchy stuff. And I have not yet put the new injectors in the Mondial... had 'em for over a week now. Probably going to work a short week so I can dedicate a few days to that car. Somehow, I actually enjoy this stuff.

Beautiful day, 26 cars by my count. Some new faces, and some old ones joined us. Welcome and welcome back! A bevy of 360's flew in. It seemed like they were everywhere. Joe...That car has your name all over it.

The 599 was gorgeous, Thanks Roland. Mike is going to dream well tonight.

Thanks for the offer of detail spray Mike Y. I was WAY to lazy to get that done but it was appreciated anyway. Nice afternoon also. Went home, watched Montreal, jacked up the Audi, and completed the Turbo recirc valve replacement and the fuel filter, then went to Longhorn for a steak with Wifey and Daughter.

Agree, a beautiful day. I can't wait until next Sunday... I wonder what I will drive...

I need to bring my camera. We have been lacking in posting photo's this year. It appears our in house photo guy has been otherwise pre-occupied. ;)
