I have this in a project file and can make any changes if needed. Waiting to get more input and see others suggestions, but I can do a sample like you want soon.

Nice idea....This must have been a hot topic at Limerock last weekend.
What is the intent? MJD mentioned selling items is this for public sales, or will it be mainly within the group?

I'm not sure of the final size but a sticker on the rear license plate would be classic.

    Tough call.
Seeing these and not knowing the direction your going makes me ask if your directing attention to Ferrari Chat site, or why specific to CT Gatherers. Phil is probably the most consistent and in the past solely carrying the torch on New Years Day. Just a thought.

Wow...wasn't aware of this conversation. I believe it should be for gatherers only, as a sort of badge. Doubt seriously we could make any money with it and frankly, I'm not interested in any kind of profiteering at all. I understand a cost to cover the expenses but I'm also proud of who we are and thankful to be defined by our charity and not our ambition.

Could we (or I) impose on someone for a fifth anniversary party. It just sounds like a great excuse for a summer/fall party.

I'm working on something for Septemberish. Can't release any details for fear of jinxing or assigning undue pressure. If it doesn't work out, we'll find another venue and do something.

Sorry all! This was the post I misinterpreted. With all of the options the logo could be used for I made a wrong assumption.

    All nice logos....
Could you try one logo with crossed flags (not V 'ed at the base)...maybe one flag Italian and one Ferrari. OR. Both Italian flags. The flags make the connection to sports cars, not sure the Ferrari though. It would be nice to see for comparison sake.

A "road" or "steering" wheel also may work. Is there a recognized Ferrari "wheel" that could be used?

How about recognizable Ferrari exhaust tips?

The slashed 55 mph under, or in the back ground of the logo would get a smile, BUT probably to out dated.

This logo is great. Take the car image above, yellow with red wheels and headlight, and work that in.

Also, legally why can/would Starbucks do anything about this? Why not use the plaza name. No should care it is free and could bring them more money. It is probably the most important aspect of the logo....where it is.
You guys are not going to make money or get rich off of this.
    Just my thoughts.

So, if I put a large SB logo on my car, because I might love SB, SB legal would chase me down 84? SB doesn't care. People have SB w/o permission everywhere :)

Their trademark if someone is being deceiving......

I believe the only time any of these companies would come after you is if you are making a profit off there logo. I don't think we have to worry about either logo really aside from ferrarichat not wanting to be included with the Ferrari horse. You can buy a bumper sticker with either of these logo's and have no problems with it on your car. its free advertising to them

Peter...We don't know about Starbucks specifically but Ferrari has a long record of prosecuting many users of their logo without permission.

The only business I think should be considered is FChat due to its integral nature of our communication and (to some degree) the way viewers of the logo might find us.

Here, here! And we have permission from Rob as long as we're not using others' intellectual property without their consent.

Personally, I think a round logo with the iconic 3 spoke steering wheel motif (think Momo) would be cool, and the letter G mirrored across it (signifying Glastonbury Gatherers). A skull with crossed spanners would be good too for the bad boys among us. We have lots of Alfa, Ferrari, Fiats, Maserati and Lamborghini among our numbers, but also Porsche, VW, A.M., Noble, Ford Cobra, Lotus, Mustangs, Vipers, Vettes, Ducati, Audi, BMW, occasional other British iron, the guy in the roller and Tim's 'mog. So we're only mostly Italian. (My point being that we're not brand, or even country, specific.)

O.K. here is one modified with your suggestions. I changed the placement of the date as I think it looks better in the middle if its commemorative.

Just a by-stander but with logo experience having designed one for another organization of which I am an officer (see attached). Mike is correct about applying the K.I.S.S. principal. 2" x 2" is not a very large canvas to work with so having a relatively uncomplicated design is best for both printing (mugs, etc.) and embroidery. My experiece is that there is typically an upcharge for more than 3 colors. Also good to think long term since you probably do not want to redo artwork and "tape" required for embroidery very often if at all. Plus longevity of use gives creates "brand recognition". Also think about what color you will be applying the logo over. In our case black has become sort of the default for most items tho' we have done others. Personally have been very happy with the people at Barker Specialty in Cheshire who have done caps, shirts (long- and short-sleeved), and mugs for us.

    Have fun!
