    But of course he wasn't penalised like others were during the year...so borderline, perhaps, but not blatant rule breaking per se.

    The rule has some ambiguity as the racing line eventually does include the apex and surely you are allowed to drive to the apex.

    I think the rules should obligate drivers that are legitimately overlapped in an overtaking attempt to leave room for each other at turn in, apex, and track out. The latter never happens and in a chicane the car leaving room at the apex should have the right to drive to the next apex rather than over slow or get driven off track by the stud who was given the first apex.
