Has anyone upgraded their "quantum logic" sound system yet ? I added a subwoofer which takes care of the bottom deep end,but seems like the mids are gone..and replacing speakers only is no easy task...

You can't just "add a sub" ... that will overwhelm the mids and highs.

It's not ever going to be a hi fi system. The stock upgrade option that I have is pretty good.

Tearing up the car is dumb IMO. No one really listens to a lot of music from the speakers. The music is from the engine. If you want it to sound better, get a new exhaust !

If your mids are gone after adding a sub, you might want to look into something that will give you the ability to control and tune the system. System tuning and control is key to any system, and it sounds like you have some issues with system balance. An active system using something like an Audison BitOne is a good place to start. Phase control, time alignment, EQ'ing etc. is what you need first of all. Get a pro with the proper equipment and good ears to set it up and tune it.

My FF has the Quantum logic upgrade. I don't like surround sound so I have it switched off. The sound is OK but lacks depth of bass and i find I have to have the treble EQ high to compensate for lack of high end. I have considered a custom system as I'm a bit of an audiophile. If I do it I will go for an Audision bit one controller as already mentioned. I would replace the rear sub with its own amp and put 3 way components in the front of the car again with their own amp. It can all be done keeping a stock look apart from the sub which I would have custom enclosed and user removable if required.
I've only had my FF 6 weeks but what is stopping me doing it is that despite being a very comfortable cruiser the FF is not a quiet car so even with a high end system it will need to be played quite loud to get the benefit. Also there is the minor possibility that something goes wrong electronically with the car further down the line and Ferrari then have an excuse as they could argue the car has been played with.

Out of interest, how and where did you do your sub install? Pics would be most welcome.

You guys are right that #1- Ferraris are louder cars so its hard to get truly great hifi and 2- if you want to achieve that, go with a controller like the bit one and get it tuned properly.
