How is this car show? I just moved out here and it would be a couple hour drive from Providence, but I remember hearing about this show back in the day. I'm more into newer exotics than older cars. Do you guys think it would be worth the trip?
The only newer exotics on display are usually from the local dealers although the parking lot and surrounding area usually fills up with some newer exotics.
Heading down on Saturday in the C/4, picking up a friend in Westbrook, going to see the '66 Fitch Sprint Corvair I romanced my wife with....special day. I sold it in '81 and wished I had not. Car was found a year or so ago and restored by the original owner, a friend, from whom I bought it in '69. The car was in very bad condition resting in a barn, covered with hay, in Idaho....a literal barn find.
Ah, ok. I believe I saw pictures of the Ferrari P4/5 showing up there before which would make the whole trip with it... Either way I don't think I'll be disappointed.
Does anyone know if spectator parking is "easy" & "safe" as opposed to complicated and risky? I would like to show up in my Cali for a short while then be on my way...
I would put it on the "easy and safe" side but the closest parking lot just south of I95 fills up pretty early. There is another parking lot just north of I95 that would be about a 10 minute walk away and I would characterize that as "safe" and "pretty easy". This is Greenwich, after all, and exotic cars are not exactly rare in the lots or parked on the streets. BTW, the close lot is well worth touring through as it is a car show in itself. As an example, here is a nice one that was in the lot a few years ago, and yes, it is a real one: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
