Apparently the aero changes for 2014 have been scrapped: Changes made to bodywork design, originally aimed at reducing downforce and drag for increased efficiency, have reverted to 2012 specification. Looks like the horrible wings are here to stay. Looking forward to some more Red Bull doubles! So now we'll continue to have the snowplow front wings, toy-like rear wings, modesty panels, with the grand addition of a buzzing V6 with fuel restrictions! Man, what a joke...
I'm actually pleased to hear of this. The 2014 aero regs were quite draconian and F1 cars would be slower than gp2 cars. 2014 rules were to lower the front nose and raise the front sing minimum height, this change alone would destroy modern F1 aerodynamics as we know them.
They should have stuck to their original plan with ground effect cars...maybe they would have actually been able to challenge the lap records of cars that are now a decade old. I just wanted to see the hideous wings go away.
Too bad, but as long as they bring the turbos, I'm all happy. It'll be a fundamental game changer. Can't wait.
Another many MM $ Q right there..... I have no idea!..... You certainly can't, as some have suggested, "ban aero".... Give 'em some boxes to work inside? Here we are. Cheers, Ian
+3 With only 600 HP and the same aero, these cars are going to be slot cars. Incredibly boring to watch...
