    I have a 2015 458 with about 2K glorious big smile miles on her. I also have the IPE F1 exhaust system w/ IPE headers, valvetronic mufflers and no cats.

    I notice that when I start the car after a few days of her sitting in my mild temp California garage that the idle acts pretty strange after a couple minutes. Basically after about 1.5 minutes she goes from a high warm-up RPM (seems normal) down to a very low RPM and then the car starts idling rough / erratic and sputters a bit (almost like it is about to stall) and then it quickly jumps back to the higher RPM as if it is correcting itself.

    After a few mins all is fine and the RPM slowly goes down naturally without the sputtering. She drives fine but this literally happens every time I start her. I have tried opening the valves w/ the IPE valvetronic exhaust system remote control and this doesn't make a difference.

    I called the dealer and they said it is normal at cold-start to hear and feel rough idling but it sure seems strange to me.

    Do you guys ever experience this? Maybe it's my IPE exhaust system causing this behavior? BTW, I have no CEL or errors on the dash and after she is warm the car drives, sounds and feels great!

    i had a similar issue on my 2013 spider, never stalled, but thought it would. took it to dealer they sent diagnostic info to FNA and they actually created a startup profile just for my car about 3 months ago.

    hasn't happened again, the new startup stays higher revving for a longer period of time instead of dropping back to lower idle rpms

    they said it was a software update that was created

    My 2013 spider does the same thing, at cold start high rpm give or take a minute, than as it starts to level off, idle fluctuation happens about 10-15sec afterwards all is good.
    I wouldn't so much call it rough idle, seems to be idle searching during warmup. I had it from day one, I figured it's part of the warm up process.

    Perhaps it could be remedied by the same fix as colonels. You might have much less restriction in your exhaust from the mods you performed and therefore you need more time at high idle to fully warm up and idle smoothly. Is the dealer OK with the mods you made?
