I was detailing my car and removed the rear wheels to clean the inner barrels lug nut holes etc. and I noticed the tread on the outer side of the wheels is about 1/2 of that on the inner tread grove with 8600 miles on the car. The front wheels exhibited virtually no wear.

Has anybody noticed the same rear wheel tire wear pattern on their cars? As far as I know this is the stock alignment from the factory and the car was never touched for alignment.

I'll be having the dealer put the wheels in a more aggressive stance to wear the inner panels down so the tires will wear out more evenly by the end of next summer and for future tires when I expect to have 12K-14K on the car.

Interested to hear what others have experienced. Maybe I was ignorant not to have the alignment to a more aggressive stance at time zero at the dealer before delivery. If you are getting a new car from the factory you might want to check into this.

89 people have looked at this post and nobody has a tire wear experience for their rear tires?

On our 2012 458 coupe, 6K miles, I would say our rear tire wear pattern was normal considering the car and how we drove it.

Ee actually had a bit of "mileage" wear on the inner side (camber induced) and a bit on the extreme outside sidewall (due to perhaps some drifting...).

You might want to have the rear toe checked.
