My 2015 Cali T will not engage first gear on startup ... it instructs me to hit the PS button in order to put the car in gear -- have to do it twice, it goes first into neutral and then into first. Thereafter, both paddles work normally, car upshifts and downshifts normally.

Here's where it gets interesting ... the left downshift paddle stopped working a couple of weeks ago (but the car would still go into first on startup). I found that a small plastic piece that rotates around a small pin and actuates the dual microswitches when you pull the paddle had broken off a small piece so it was not engaging the microswitches. I obtained a new piece and replaced it in the paddle shifter assembly, buttoned it back up and now both paddles are working BUT the car will no longer go into first (which is actually pulling the right paddle which had worked normally previously).

It's mystifying why the car will no longer go into first. Any ideas? Does the car somehow take note when a paddle is not working properly (i.e., contacting one microswitch instead of two on a shift) and then lock out the ability to put the car in drive on startup as a safety measure? (Or if the microswitches are out of sync with each other?) Will the car throw some kind of code? Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it after 5 minutes did not solve the problem, but in a mechanical sense both paddles are now operating exactly as they did before.

One simple thing and always first on my list with any FERRARI issue is plug the battery tender in and let it charge over night that seems to cure about 90% of all problems I have had with any late model Ferrari

You need to have the car scanned. These DCT gearboxes are really starting to show some expensive issues as they are getting older. Let's take it one step at a time..and start with a good base line for trouble shooting

Thanks, Tom. I did have the car scanned, the right paddle indicated it was being pulled when it wasn’t. Removed the actuator from the micro switches, reinstalled and all is well. The micro switches have soft rubber tips, maybe one was pinched when I put it back together the first time.
