Great shots on the courant site...and let me guess, that must be Dean's 'Must Sell' ad, too funny! I missed the Pagani again, #@$%!%!
Dean, No friend of mine!!!! She was trying to convince John and myself to bring the cars to the Simsbury show, which she has something to do with organizing. The photographer came over, and apparently she knew him, and asked him to get a picture of me in front of the F12. Then she jumped into the picture. I almost got rude but didn't. She had more questions than anyone else, and wanted to sit in all of the cars. She hung around for about 20 minutes. Laugh, I had a hunch the picture would be in the paper or on the web, so when I got home I told Patti what had happened. Always "be prepared"! Other than that the show was great. Lots of good comments on all of the cars. If you're interested I might be able to give you an introduction and recommendation.........
Note to self - Next time don't dry off the cars! If we left 20 minutes sooner the whole thing could have been avoided. The kids and I were highly entertained by her. She came over and told me that my 328 was her favorite Ferrari. I might have been flatter if I hadn't already heard her tell you the 308 was her favorite then asked to sit in the F12 because it's her favorite.
Touché! I was fearful and hid behind my car. Someone who seemed a little too interested in Ferrari owners I think. Harmless enough I guess.
One pic too many for comfort. I was talking to Phil and she just pushed her way in and said something to the effect of she wanted her friend to take a picture. If I were Phil I would have gotten rude at that point but instead I got the heck outta Dodge. Sorry Phil I should have known not to ever leave a man behind. My bad. Hottie or ? is not up to me to determine. - Ed -

Charles, 0:19 seconds into the second video is IFS' 575 track car. I don't need one of these but I really want one of these. - Ed -
Ed: None of us 'need' any of these cars. I love the IFS cars. The front aero on the his 360 in the previous shot looks very effective (I have some friends who have been doing some heavyweight aero modelling using openFoam, and these sorts of treatments are shown to be very effective both in reducing Cd and helping with downforce.) Given your proximity to Palmer, (and not being too far from Thompson), I would be seriously looking at a track car if I were you. So I'm not going to be the one to deter you! For me -- I've been a fan of hillclimb forever, and I've been thinking about doing that as an antidote to my road car hoarding (5 is a comfortable number for me to maintain myself, any more and things don't get the attention they need.) Also, street cars make terrible race cars and vice versa. I'd rather spend time and effort on a track car than building something that is driven on public roads with all of the necessary constraints and compromises. The new barn comes first though -- presently engaged in a lot of sitework with loader and excavator. So yes, I think you should have something for the track. You could do worse than a 575. Sorry to be no help at all. Let me know when you get it! Best, Charles
I did see the car but did not take note of the owner. It was Dino-badged. I agree, beautiful and a great color. I haven't seen it before. No idea if the owner is on here.
Charles, Since you did not deter me I've been looking for more pics of the 575. This one was shot by Mikety. - Ed - Image Unavailable, Please Login
You know, there's another area of motorsport that's been barely explored... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've had several inquiries with respect to reinstating the fall classic "Gathering at Autumn View Farm". I've been thinking long and hard about bringing it back along with the viability of providing Golf Cart Polo at said gathering. If there is sufficient interest then perhaps we at AVF can make it happen in the late summer or early fall. What do you think the interest level is among the GBury group? - Ed -
And it would seem that folks are quick to forget what can happen during golf cart polo. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
We're glad some sharp eyes spotted a front engine 12 cylinder 550 tucked in between our stable of challenge cars! We're very fond of Maranello's and wanted a track car that wasn't another challenge car. Should be hitting the track soon. We'll keep everyone posted with more photos and video. Here is a shot before we loaded it into the hauler for Concorso. Image Unavailable, Please Login
John, LIKE. Oh wait a minute ..... that's a different social media site. Still like!!! Definitely caught my eye. I'm sure that everyone at IFS is super busy but I'd love to see a new thread here on FChat chronicling the construction and development of this beautifully crafted machine. - Ed -
Interest? AVF is one of those annual events we look forward to like the Concorso. And we promise to be nicer to the carts...well, in the first match anyway
My family and I always enjoyed AVFs polo matches. If you have difficulty obtaining golf carts maybe we could use Fiat 500s.
