Follow Larry’s lead. He provided the road map.
I of course looked at all the listings and talked to my dealer who said they would consign it for around 240 . It would cost 1000 to ship it to them and they always hit me for around 12-1500 in service BS . then subtract 8% and it made a lot more sense to sell it like I did . I don't care what the gross price is all I care about is MY net...
Just like the housing market price it at a little lower than market value and get it sold fast and sometimes more than you ask ..bidding war

I agree and gather LARRYH is a classy guy the more I read his posts. Nice car collection too
You are very smart Larry. It's not worth aggravation for Maybe a few $ more.

I think your net proceeds would have been about the same, either way. You just cut out the middleman. But there are some pros and cons, I think.
If you consigned the car for $240K and got a offer for $235K, you'd most likely take it, then subtract the 8% consignment commission and the $2,200 in shipping and dealer inspection and to detail the car, which leaves you with $214K net.
Since you sold it on Fchat for about the same $214K price, its a wash. This brings up other factors, some of which which could be a hassle. Did you have to take the car somewhere to get a PPI done? That could be a long wait if you had to stay with the car. Who's responsible for possible damage during the shipping to the buyer?
You probably sold it faster on Fchat than you would have at your local dealer, so that is a big plus (time value of money). But having your dealer on your side to intermediary any issues is also a big plus.
Lots of things to consider. Again, congrats on the sale!
Red / tan Ferraris sell well ?
Who knew ?
Cars are priced to sit or priced to sell. Well done to all!
This was the deal of the year. Larry, I recall your delivery story posts at the time you got it and how much I admired your spec, especially the carbon engine compartment trim. Congrats to the new owner.
I forgot about that thread.. I really like CF engine compartment ... and the rest of the specs it is a very nice car....
I have it in two of my other Ferraris also and would be in any I ordered...I think..
